Another rural Wiltshire pub in a beautiful village location. Service wasn't the best. But the food being served up in the main bar and in the side room looked very tempting. Ales were Ringwood Best Bitter & Sixpenny Pale Ale & 6d Best. Nice pub. But could have been better with a nicer welcome.

Outstandingly good example of a well run but down to earth country pub. Superb beers and had a lovely meal on one of our two visits this year. Seems to thrive on a thankfully broad church of customer types.

Had an excellent pint of Sixpenny IPA in this very pleasant country pub after our bike ride.

Excellent Country Pub with a good choice of beer, Ringwood Best, Sixpenny IPA and 6X. Run by a very pleasant couple and Labradoodle. Extensive menu and food quality very good, you would be well advised to book in advance in the evening and at weekends. Dogs welcome in the bar area.

Pub has been bought by a go ahead couple, they were three months into the pub when we called in. It was during the early evening of the village country fair and the bar was packed so we had to push our way through to the bar. Looking at the menu, prices were most reasonable and we were accomodated in a table in a small but cosy area with other diners to the right of the bar. Food service was surprisingly quick, food was coming out of the kitchen at short intervals yet was apparently well appreciated by all concerned. The beer was excellent too.

Pub is now for sale 600,000

A good pint or two of Ringwood was had, but didn't try the food. It was very quiet when I went in at lunchtime, but another customer remarked that it does get crowded at times.

one of the best in the area for food, and a lovely place, just wish the landlord would be a bit more adventurous with his beer choices!

Very nice village pub, off the beaten track and, while it does do food, it doesn't claim to be a restaurant. Clientele are mostly old, but the younger locals seemed like a decent bunch. Three beers on, 2 Ringwoods and Wadworths 6X. The Wadworths was well kept and a very enjoyable pint.
Worth making the effort to find, especially if grouped with the Crown in Alvediston on a crawl (but not on foot).

Nice pub in general with good disabled facilities and welcoming for dogs and families. However, they are closed on Sunday and Monday night completely which is a waste of time if you have travelled to this remote village. Cook is over exerting his/herself we felt .Chicken Jalfrezi was nice but should gave been termed a stir fry for all the curry flavour there was. Similarly the cajun chicken . Prices quite high considering, but stick to the basics and you will be satisfied well enough.

Definately a quaint English pub in country setting with a real ales. Great pint of Ringwood available.
Unfortunately we were there early in the evening so not much atmosphere, and the couple on the next table made you feel like you were back at school which you can't hold against the pub.
Food had great portion size for the money but unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. The writing was on the wall when I had a steak and wasn't asked how I would like it cooked!

Nice old-fashioned pub in a quaint village. First class grub at reasonable prices.
