Lovely little pub, but hard to find ! Always a good supply of beers and ciders and as others have said the food is very good. The public bar at the front left is where the locals go, and there are always people in there. The other main bar is really for eating. Have had very good Sunday lunch there. Food choice in summer is beater since I guess Les gets more visitors, where winter is locals. All in all very worth the effort to find!

The host Les is always really welcoming, the food is always outstanding, fresh local and filling, the atmosphere is great and the wood burner makes for a cosey retreat from the damp and windy outdoors through the wintery months and in the summer what a glorious setting, with sun going down after a balmy sunday what more could you ask...oh yes the beers and ciders, there are always a good few guest ales and ciders for you to try, and the regulars for us stalwarts Old Rosey is one of mine and ofcourse the good old perry if I'm really thirsty

Spent half an hour looking for the pub, arrived at 1355 (I really do mean 1355, not 1405) to be told the kitchen was closed. No greeting, no apology, no pleasantries, just a shrug of the shoulders, a grunt, and a "if you're after food, the kitchen's closed". They were quite busy, two more groups had followed us in, and at least one of them was also looking for food. There were four people milling around behind the bar, not doing an awful lot. I would have even been happy with something cold. Their loss, I won't bother again.

i revisited the new inn on bank holiday monday after reading the hype about the may fair, only to find it had been cancelled with out notice . i was extremely dissappointed considering i only went to buy some samosa,s and onion bajes that had been advertised on the flyer. the landlord offered no explanation for the cancellation just shrugged his shoulders ! luckily matt and warren were there which was very entertaining to say the least there ACE the best but that John Owen bloke was there which put a dampener on things, but Matt and Warren more than made up for it there GREAT!!!!

Fantastic pub, Fantastic location, great range of beers and ciders, the food is homemade, locally sourced and tasty. The landlord is a nice guy, who want to run his pub his way, in this over customer service orientated world that may not go down well with everyone. At the end of the day the food is good and the beers well kept, if the landlord is a bit of character, well thats what makes a proper country pub different to your Pub Co Pub.

i have been going to the new inn off and on for years now . the latest landlord seems a nice sort of bloke, and i have witnessed him in good moods and unfortunetly some very bad moods . but overall he does seem to run a good decent public house . the meals are nice and beers good . unfortunetly in the last 2 or 3 years when i have viseted the pub there is a couple of locals that act as if they have a share in the pub , one name that springs to mind is a man called jhon . i only remember his name becouse 1 . it was printed on his jumper . 2 . because every body else there seemed to be arguing with him . he really did ruin our evening , and i think i know every gory detail about his life . but after reading a previous comment on this site i will agree that the pub has a large and very varied atmosphere and i really enjoy the pub . but to echo a previous comment if you go to the pub ask if matthew or warren are due in , they will make tour visit a much more enjoyable event and you will be sure to leave with a smile on your face ...... no matter what the weather .

On my first visit i found the new inn to be a lovely pleasent place with an excellent selection of beers and cider. This being said the landlord was having some sort of drinking competition with a foul mouthed local called john (i think) by the time the pair had removed their clothing , on a saturday afternoon i should say, i made a fast exit .
After my experience i was intrigued to see if this was a regular accurance , thankfully it wasnt (but i did arrive earlier this time). I ended up having a brilliant time with two locals. So the next time you visit ask if Warren and Matt are in cause there brilliant lads, the best, and both extremely funny.

The locals are all very nice people, happy to talk with you and have a laugh. The landlord is an utter arse however, which turns a good night out into a horrible one. I wouldn't like to say exactly what happened for fear of the landlord's attacks. Can't stress enough how bad this makes the pub - I wouldn't argue with any of the comments against him on here.

I have been here before but it was a long time ago, but on Saturday I found the place very welcoming. The full range of food was not available as the usual kitchen staff (including presumably the landlord) were at a wedding. However, the baguette I had was extremely well-filled and tasty as was the generous portion of salad. The beers were excellent too, especially the Goff's Jouster. The staff were all extremely pleasant. All this and a beautiful day made the place quite idyllic.

I agree with Samwalker the landlord has never been rude to me or anyone that i know. The cider has been brilliant recently.

The landlord can in no way be called surly or aggresive, he is friendly and always enjoys a laugh. The food is great and so are the wide selection of ciders. I would definatly recommend a trip to the New Inn.

Had many trips to this pub in the last 12 months with family for lunch time meals and my mates for an evening drink. The beer is varied and in excellent condition. Last time i was there in the evening my taxi was late pushing me way past closing but the barmaid was fine to let me wait in the pub till it showed up. A real out of the way pub and well worth the effort.

What a fantastic pub this used to be, my favourite for many years, I revisited the place a few times over the last few years, the beer was ok, but on all three occasions, despite glorious weekend weather, the place was virtually empty, something to do with the attitude of the landlord, I have been told ....

Great Pub, awful landlord. After being offered the opportunity to buy a "last orders" round, the landlord came back drunk from a party and threw us out - forcing us to leave half of the drinks. He was rude and aggressive and did a good job of ruining an otherwise excellent pub.

I'm amazed that this pub hasn't had several admiring reviews. Wonderful. Quiet, at the end of a beautiful valley: immensely calm. Lovely walking in the area, a great place to end a day. Actually worth finding somewhere to stay / camp in the area just to spend an evening here and not have to drive away again. I've been here several times and it's consistently excellent.

Big garden, good selection of real ales (fine Butty Bach), very very good selection of ciders. Enough space to accommodate families and others comfortably.

Great food, although you should call in advance to check they can feed you, as there isn't a huge kitchen staff. On the bright side, you get to talk to the person who cooks your meal. Very friendly, very relaxed. I shall be there again. Everything you want in a country pub, go and find out for yourself.
