The New Inn, Waterley Bottom

I'm amazed that this pub hasn't had several admiring reviews. Wonderful. Quiet, at the end of a beautiful valley: immensely calm. Lovely walking in the area, a great place to end a day. Actually worth finding somewhere to stay / camp in the area just to spend an evening here and not have to drive away again. I've been here several times and it's consistently excellent.

Big garden, good selection of real ales (fine Butty Bach), very very good selection of ciders. Enough space to accommodate families and others comfortably.

Great food, although you should call in advance to check they can feed you, as there isn't a huge kitchen staff. On the bright side, you get to talk to the person who cooks your meal. Very friendly, very relaxed. I shall be there again. Everything you want in a country pub, go and find out for yourself.
