It’s another pub where you can only go to eat, nowhere really to sit and drink except for outside unless perhaps if their not busy during the week
It was packed on a Friday though when I visited and everyone seemed happy and the bar staff were polite and attentive

Should be "Doesn't deserve"

Only visted this pub as its on the Somerset CAMRAs pub trail. God only knows why as it does deserve to be on any good pub guide (except perhaps a Yeovil pub guide)
Not much of a choice of ales, tribute, Adnams and something else. 3.40 a pint, bloody hell, I should have walked out there and then. Even at that price it was far from exceptional.
Although I drive past here regularly I have never been here before, and I wont be back

Difficult not to be biased as I have known the Landlord (Pete) for a long time, but am not a regular as I live so distance away. However, I have always received a warm welcome from the staff, the beer is good (in the GBG regularly) and Pete is a big music fan and has a lot of bands performing here including 'names'. Personally I would like to see Pete running a few other pubs I could name...

Not a regular, perhaps 5 or 6 times a year, here but always assured of a good welcome and a decent pint (or two) of Broadside (3.25) - in spite of the sign outside which reads 'Cold Food, Warm Beer, Grumpy Landlord' No sign of aforementioned barmaid.

Went here on Saturday before the match (although it's not within easy walking distance of the ground - see below). There's a sign outside which reads (something like) 'good food, good beer, grumpy landlord'. Well he wasn't. He was very friendly and made us feel more than welcome.
I thought that the beer was good but not brilliant and it was expensive at 3:10 for a pint of Tribute. It was the only pub in Yeovil that we went in so I don't know how it compares to the others on price.
The food was OK. The lunchtime menu has various main meals for a fiver. The portions weren't over generous but you got veg and potatoes, which made a nice change from the ubiquitous portion of chips. What food there was, was very nice and like I said it was only a fiver, so can't really complain about the portion size.
One thing I did find a bit strange. The landlord asked how we intended to get from the pub to the match. We told him taxi and he advised setting off at 13:30 if we didn't want to be get there too close to kick-off as the traffic, he said, was horrendous on matchdays. I'd already booked the cab for 14:15 and we decided to stick with that. It turned up on time and dropped us right outside the away end turnstiles before 14:30. Landlords idea of a joke?

Haven't been in this pub for around 22 years!! When i read about the 'good looking' barmaid I thought I'd check it out.....just my luckm the barmaid was a barman (on this occasion anyway). So I thought, as I'm here, I'd best try the beer. The Tribute was very good but the Traditional Butcombe was superb. I'll visit again to try an get a glimpse of the barmaid!!! Not keen on the actual pub (but then, I never have been) but it is clean, well presented and the ale is served in great condition.

Called in for a quick pint on the way home. Great pint of Tribute, cheap food , luscious barmaid. Recomended!

Well, not much more to add to The_Final_Arbiter's comment. yes the bar maid is very pleasant, Butcombe and Adnams spot on and Also Tribute available. Pete the landlord is not on a par (looks wise) with aforementioned barstaff but is probably one of the best in Yeovil making a Punch pub great, not an easy job in these times. Keep it up!

I think I'm in love again! Went in here for lunch and a few ales today, and behind the bar was an absolutely stunningly drop-dead gorgeous young lady. Eastern European, I would guess, but her English was faultless, as was her shape. I had a Butcombe to start with, and Adnams Broadside to follow. Both in perfect condition, just like the barmaid. We opted for the Sweet 'n' Sour Pork, which was served by (yeah, you've guessed it.) the equally tasty barmaid/waitress. The food is very good, the beer is excellent, and the only staff I encountered was a. . Oh, I think I mentioned her already.
Ace place.

Previous comments a bit puzzling. This pub always serves a good pint (usually Butcombe, Broadside and Tribute - my favourite of the three). Certainly not a gastro pub - new 5 lunch menu appears excellent value - not tried yet, but will soon. One of the best pubs in Yeovil. Some people are obviously almost impossible to please!

Tried hard to become a gastro pub but couldn't quite pull it off. Has a fair few live music acts but is not worth climbing Hendford Hill for. Food is OK but a shade overpriced and I can't comment on the ales as I was on Guinness.

clean glasses!? that's all that is.....certainly not the carpets/curtains/toilets/bar/furniture.
not good ale either....as you would expect I guess.
