I have been to over 5000 thousand pubs with my wife travelling the length and breadth of the country by train and bus so we pretty much know what to expect in a new place.
However whilst we of course expect the odd glance of "who the hell are they" this had to have been the worse experience ever from the locals, even the barman looked at us funny and tried to walk off as we came in.
Still always a good talking point for day out and onwards we go.

Great place. Good beer and nice food at good prices. Nice layout inside and a beer garden and a few parking spaces. Motorcycle friendly. Nice friendly staff on two different occasions. Just what a proper pub should be 8/10.

I was staying in Castle Cary for a weekend recently and went to the White Hart two evenings. Good beer, friendly staff and some great local characters, my friend also had Sunday lunch there and said it was very good and excellent value. Hope to visit again.

Good local pub with best pint being Doombar, which is normally kept well. Food OK. though nothing mindblowing. Rocky the parrot can be a bit vocal. Not sure about the fly business on previous posting. I am a local and have never been bothered about flies in the pub and they also have a zapper to take care of any ones that do get in.

Just passing through, so I called in for some food and a pint. Both were fine, but the White Hart appears to be the home of quite a few blue flies. All of which decided to have a go at my ploughmans. Eating food while trying to stop a dozen or so blue flies landing on my food wasn't my idea of a good pub experience. When the flies are at rest, they hang out on the dartboard. Planning their next sorty no doubt!

Nice Old pub,Yep saw the big fat fluff ball lying on the bar counter! Opted 4 a pint of Doom Bar, but cos it was carnival night this did come in a plastic glass. still a 7/10 is prob about right......

A pub with a bar. Serves local ales & lager. Smokey! (Bar frequented by a black &white cat, although he has been barred, keeps sneaking in when bar staff not looking)! A couple of tables outside front on pavement. An interesting and historic horse pond nearby, where in by-gone days horses complete with their coaches were driven into the pond to be washed!! Try that in your 4x4...!! TJ
