A filthy dire dump purporting to be hip and right on. No excuse for the absolutely filthy grubby feel of this place. The toilets were like he ones in trainspoting( the first one). You would take your life in your hands eating in here. Avoid like the plague or you might end up catching it. Last cleaned when Jack the Ripper walked the streets. An utter disgrace.

The nearest pub to my office and even though it's a fun little place the ale can sometimes be a little hit and miss.
On a good day there will be 2 hand pumps and both of these will be either local or fairly rare ales for this part of London but this is where the hit and miss part comes in they don't always taste very good, I put this down to the pipes not always being clean.
The pizzas are good and the clientele is varied and quirky a bit like the interior.
Probably the best pub round here but the ale lets it down slightly.

Great quirky little pub with a fantastic range of bottled beers from all over the world. Had a great wheat beer.Well worth a visit.

HYA INDO I GO THERE QUITE A LOT LAST YEAR THE PUB WAS VERY DIRTY SO I STOPPED GOING AS IT WAS A BIT OF A TURN OFF. I WENT BACK A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND IT WAS SO MUCH CLEANER SO I WILL GO BACK JUST NEEDS DECORATING

Three of us went in early evening although we all ordered a different drink we each received a tepid, cloudy and totally undrinkable pint. As the barmaid seemed totally uninterested we left our drinks and promptly made tracks. As an aside the place stunk of joss sticks which normally means its covering up some other unpleasant odour.

Went in early evening so missed the crowds but still a good atmosphere. All age groups mixing well, quirky bar staff, was he really wearing his pyjamas behind the bar? Contrary to previous comments the prices are competitive for a london boozer. 3.50 for a pint of bombardier I can just about stand. Good place I loved it.

If you like your doylies impeccable, your virgins immaculate and your pizza pristine, avoid this place. it's less Sistine Chapel and more Painters' Workshop. But the pizza is brilliant - the hottest and tastiest I've had since charcoal-fired wood-stove pizzas in Northern Italy one summer. The beer and cider are fine (yes, you can actually get cider, hallelujah) and the service is passable to tragicomically amusing, but certainly beats Wetherspoons for entertainment value and promptness. What's more, the crowd is far more interesting and the music, albeit often deafeningly loud, is varied and conversation inspiring. Hard to know what else to say, as it's narrow and cramped, does have pongy toilets and there are no frilly tablecloths. But I wouldn't drink anywhere else. Tim

Ah INDO. Easy to find, its right opposite the East London mosque. I used to go in here with regularity but the unpredictability in service has been too much to bear. I've had great nights in here; a DJ playing ska 7"s on a turntable on the bar, drinks flowing, dancing and much merriment. Likewise there has been surly to non-existent service and the dreadful smell of the lavatories. There seems to be an increase wrong'uns hanging about outside recently but I may just give it a go again soon.

Great little pub with interesting art on the walls that changes weekly, top choices of Belgian beer and friendly staff. Can get loud at the weekends, but what do you expect given the location. My only grumble is the loos - they are truly disgusting and prevent me from wanting to try the very well-regarded food. If the loos are like that, what's the kitchen like?

Great atmosphere, staff to remember and an interesting selection of drinks (if a little on the pricey side). Also open later than a lot of the other places in the area. Music is spot on and the service is very quick. Can get a little packed at times, but not really surprising for a place of the size. Somewhere I try to pop into whenever I'm the area.

Excellent bar in an otherwise barren area in the way of decent boozers. Great music, friendly staff...go for a pint of the dark Budvar.
|
great pub, nice food and beer, the staff are great!
|
decent enough place, beer is a bit patchy though
|
Still like this boozer for the chill and the decor-but the continental lager I drunk was p***

Fantastic music. Very quick service at the bar. Some rather bizarre clientele. Will definitely go back.

Staff are very friendly in here, but it's small so on a busy night get there early to get a seat. And have a pizza, they're fantastic.

Very nice pub with lovely staff. I used to live nearby, and the girl who worked there was probably the most attractive girl I ever spoke to. She seems to have left, but the bar is still excellent. I gave 9, as the beer isn't as good as it could be, but the decor, crowd and music are all top-notch.

IN my humble opinion, Indo is the best pub in the area...by far! It hasn't changed that much over the years, it has a nice clientele, good beer, friendly staff , and it's small and relaxed. Quite arty crowd. Even noticed a few faces in there from the late 90's era when shoreditch had taken off and the Bricklayers was pub of the moment. INDO...don't ever change! Only one gripe though...make sure the loos are always kept clean :-/ they were a bit worse for wear the night i was in recently

Here, you can look at proper art and have a drink whilst listening to some great music. The food is also excellent. Oh and the staff are lovely. And the clientele are very pleasant indeed. Did I mention the art?

One of the smallest bars I've ever been too! Really relaxed with friendly staff, a good beer selection, interesting art on the walls, good music and a very chilled vibe to the place.

If your going to Whitechapel for the Whitechapel Gallery, the market or to Brick Lane, then dont forget to check out the Indo. A great little bar with masses of atmosphere and charm. They serve an eclectic selection of beers from the usual staples thru to Belgium fruit beers. The food is good and inexpensive (Try their 2.00 Hot Dogs)and they have a selection of Art that changes every 3 weeks. They have a DJ on Sat/Sun nights so the place gets busy. If you prefer it calmer then go in the afternoon and chill with a cold beer and read the free newspapers.

Great little pub on the high street that has a well stocked bar selling everything from the usual commercial beers through to imported Belgium fruit beers. Great looking decor that resembles a collectors front room and it displays local art. Foods good but you've got to try the 2 hot dogs.
