Under no circumstance should any sane person frequent this establishment unless you want a proper ghetto night out and don't mind being screwfaced by the local man dem who chuck it about, incessantly offered coke, served rubbish cocktails and food, and generally made to feel mad uncomfortable. I have seen it go off in here in a major way, I'm talking twelve men rucks. A complete and utter crap hole. Oh and don't even get me started on the toilets.

Dont visit this place if you want a good night out. we ordered food and it took 45 mins to arrive, and when it did arrive it was warm and tasted like it was out of the freezer! the bar was not very busy and i can understand why. The style of decor is delatadated, you can see where water has leaked and the have tryed to cover it up in some cases, the floors were dirty and the tables sticky. For the money visit the dogstar it makes this "hole" look like a shed....... Never going to visit again..........would advise you steer clear!

WORTH CHECKING OUT. This is actually one of the last true original bars left in South London that still has a soul left! BBAG is still one of my favourite watering holes after work and to party later. Apparently, new management has taken the reins in Jan 2010 and brought in new security, new sound system and a new menu too, with great cocktails what's not to like about it! What makes the vibe is some great tunes/DJs, went to Scottie and Ricky's party there last Sat 30th- was truly epic.

Nice enough bar to look at, but the staff really should lay off smoking ganja, they were all wasted which is far from ideal. Barman could not understand what 2 pints of pilsner was, and kept on asking. Waited over an hour and a half for food, which never turned up, and had to get a refund. Certainly not a place to go if you are hungry. Strange shared toilet system, cubicles only, can't imagine women are too happy with this arrangement.

i like the BBAG , its got some class to it unlike some of the venues now in the area
music is always great if you like the doof doof type of thing , staff attentive and some quite fit too !!

This place really isn't as bad as some of the reviews below suggest. It is a little bit expensive I agree, but that's probably because it's a table service. It's somewhere to go for a few drinks on one of those nights when a pub seems too dull but a club seems like too much. The food is good too.

i was here on saturday, and i have to say the tunes were rocking.
however, i should add that the booze was expensive, and the owner was a posh twonk with particularly offensive hair

I am amazed that this place has been given such bad reviews. I have always felt welcome and found the staff to be very helpful, professional and friendly. I live in Brixton and find this bar to be a real haven. Food is fine, cocktails good, atmosphere lively. It is expensive but I think it is worth it as you almost always get a table and don't have to move from your table to get served. Go with an open mind.

Over priced and poor service in this place. Should be more reasonably priced as it's tucked away from the knowing public.

Had a few good evenings here - the cocktails and selection of beers are very good. Downsides are food - quite dreadful. If you want some tapas better to go to No.22 in Herne Hill or to one of the many of the Portuguese, Spanish and South American places in Brixton and Stockwell. Also service charge - we were made to feel very uncomfortable when we chose not to pay the full and I might add optional 13% after a night drinking there - I might add we had spent over a 100 quid on drinks and left a tenner - quite reasonable I thought.

Very overpriced. Calls itself a 'grill' and didn't do a steak of any sort when i was there. Would rather push expensive, badly mixed cocktails at you while you sit cheek to jowl with non-locals haw-hawing loudly about house prices etc.

Much better when it was the Pangea pizza restaurant. I've been here once when a friend was Djing, and was charged 21 for three rum and cokes. Plus it had no atmosphere !

What can I say - definatly the best bar in brixton (in my opinion)!!!!!!!!!
If you want a grungy traditional brixton scene don't bother - if you want the friendliest bar staff, very good tapas - excellent drinks menu plus professional cocktial bar staff you've come to the right place!!
excelent tunes and the best atmosphere of any bar in south london! Prices are average 3 a pint 5 to 7 for tapas - the wine list is good though it could be a little more varied!
I come here every week, there's no point in going anywhere else cos i won't be as good!

Truly all that is wrong woth new bars in Brixton. Clapham high street translocated to Brixton. full of want-to-be trendies and a wacking 13% service charge on drinks.
