Now closed, which is fairly depressing. Yeah, it was "Gay", but we all have our cross to bear. It wasn't the haunt of the type of "Right On!" Corbynistas, who pay more for a cup of coffee than the poor buggers who harvest it get paid in a week and buy stuff on Amazon but "self-identify" as "Gay" so they can portray themselves as "victims" of an oppressive system... and it certainly wasn't the place for former Coleherne regulars to frequent! I hadn't been in for maybe 20 years until I worked on King's Road for a few months last year. It hadn't changed a lot. I still expected to see an ack-tor of a certain age eyeing-up the customers, in search of a strapping squaddie from the Duke of York Barracks across the street, who'd be willing to roughly roger his ringpiece for a ten-shilling note. Chelsea Queens still there, squaddies long gone, and so's the pub. It was easily the best boozer in Chelsea, in my view. Decent beer - I normally stuck to Brain's - and the chicken kiev, sausage & mash and pies were excellent: never a hint of the gristle that often appeared halfway through a mouthful in the The Trafalgar and elsewhere on the manor. Good bar staff, interesting clientele and interesting conversation. It's extremely depressing that there's no market for this type of establishment in Chelsea any more. Note on the window says the leaseholders are trying to find a backer to reopen a pub on the site, but I doubt it'll be the same.

Nice, quiet pub on a Friday afternoon. Brains SA was very pleasant.
|
Not a bad little pub, and a good place for striking up a casual conversation. A lot of the customers now seem nongay, but you still get the old Chelsea queens (thank God). Beer not the main attraction, frankly.
|
Something of a time warp in the heart of Chelsea in that you don't stand out for being aged over 25. Gay friendly, a bit quirky and equipped with Brain's of Cardiff, hence ticking at least 3 boxes if not 4.

Lovely evening last night. Friendly traditional pub. Them boys are oh so funny. Go get them.
|
full of chelsea queers - couldn't think of a worse mixture.

I'm not a fan of the pubs along the King's Rd - typically a little uninspiring - but this is reasonable. Only 2 ales, but very pleasant to sit outside and watch a bit of the world go by. A welcome peaceful hide away from the King's Rd. The sarnies work, and the staff are friendly !

"I could only see two real ales, Pride and Doom Bar, but the first of these was decent enough (and there may have been more round the back).

You've made my day! Bloody hilarious!

one of the few traditional gay pubs left in London! most annoying thing though is the loud italian tourists sitting outside screaming while you try to relax with a pint! Overall a very good pub

Quite a traditional-looking pub which seems slightly out of place in this wealthy area but thankfully it has somehow managed to avoid being revamped as a fancy modern bar. Quite a mixed clientele, from taxi drivers in the front 'snug' to some more exotic types in the rear bar. This is quite spacious, and there also seemed to be another room to the side, meaning than overall the pub is rather larger than it first appears. I could only see two real ales, Pride and Doom Bar, but the first of these was decent enough (and there may have been more round the back).

I really like the Q's H. Its one of the few in SW3 that hasn't tried to re-invent itself. It is what it is, a proper pub! Some of the previous comments have centred around camp bar staff, free condoms and gay clientel. Well get real, you've been in a GAY bar. Seriously though the front bar is sort of straight and the back bar a bit mixed/gay. Its a melting pot of Chelsea FC supporting cab drivers, lost American tourists, Peter Jones shop girls and a regular old bunch of queens holding court. Long may she reign

This pub used give out free condoms with lube lol seriously. But this pub has a descent pint but we tend to stay in the straight small side of the bar.
|
my husband drank here many moons ago and decided we should have a pint here for nostalgias sake. 2 great pints of london pride were ordered before we noticed it was a gay bar!! you can imagine the ribbing my poor hubby got from me! lol!
however, the barstaff were very friendly, the beer was fab and we enjoyed our time in there, even though we are straight! lol!

A bit of a haven amongst so much pretentious clap-trap around the Kings Road. Endearing and an excellent pint of Pride, even though the barman looked like the lead singer from Right Said Fred.
|
What a totally weird place. Beer selection minimal, odd goings on in the back--some sort of gay-inspired stage act. The male makeout party on a Saturday night was a bit creepy. Uninterested, unfriendly service. Quiet side street with outdoor tables were it's saving grace.

Friendly bar staff and decent pint of Pride. The 'locals' in the back bar are of a certain age ,some of them are so camp it's cringeworthy. I thought I was at a meeting of the Julian and Sandy appreciation society. Should be re-named Queenie Head.

I love this pub - Quaint, oldy worldy, nice people !! Staff always friendly and fun, customers seem very welcoming - worth a look if you are in the area!!
|
Very run of the mill gay bar just off the Kings Road. Very cramped when busy and some of the customers seem to have taken looking down on people as an art form. Very strictly a one drink pub before moving on elsewhere.
|
Small, smoky and very trad two-bar pub which has avoided any hint of gentrification or modernisation.
|
If you like sushi, order the fish and chips as ours was raw.
