Smallish selection of ales but good friendly service. The food menu, also, was limited - but again served in a friendly manner and reasonable value for money for the area.

Last minute visit here resulted in a rather pleasant meal. Bar staff: pleasant Drinks: good quality and in keeping with modern times for prices. Food: Well presented, great quality and temperature. nicely varied menu and great deserts. Overall, a nice refreshing change to previous visits and I would recommend a further visit. Nice to see an improvement in a pub in the area!!

This pub restauarant has gone from good to bad to really good and now back again to dismal. The place is great with good atmosphere but as regards Food forget it! Food management is not their forte. They rarely have half the items on the menu whichever day of the week we come and when you order, its takes nearly 50 minutes to be served. Now they are advertising for a new chef so we dont feel brave enough to venture there again until the current mess is sorted out. A year or so ago this place was run excellently.

seem to be a food type pub. expensive 3-30 for a pint of st austell tribute which was ok but had better. being in surrey it did strange that the other cask beer was sharpe brewery beer

Slow to be delivered food and badly cared for ales are two reasons to avoid this watering hole. Two more are the prices that are above average and cleanliness that is well below. Unpalatable meal and cloudy beer on the last trip suggest that it will probably be just that.

My wife and I have used this pub many times over the past two years, but in the past year the food has gone south. All the specials dissapear and the quality, variety and quantity have reduced not sure that the catering side is of importance to them now. we had sausages and mash with three tiny little sausages and my wife had scampi that was four tiny little battered balls when we complained we were told that was the portions served and that was that! good place for a drink but the food forget it...there are many other pubs around that do better in the locality. Pity as it used to be very good.
so much for service and satisfaction!

JDW were up to their usual tricks with insufficient staff when I was here recently; seemingly just the barmaid and the cook.Despite this, service was quick, friendly and efficient. My son's and my meal were fine and my beer was in okay condition.

Strange mixture of old pub and modern bar, with its most distinctive feature being an overpowering smell of furniture polish. Three handpumps, but my pint of Pride was served far too cold (but slightly cheaper than I expected at 2.80).

As per my visit last year, getting more grungy (still no soap in the loos) and main course was 45 minutes. Prices where good though, beer & food still good and location remains, oddly enough, excellent!

I like it here, infact i'll give it a 10/10. Great range of beers and quite a classy interior. Quite packed on a Saturday evening, mostly a youngish crowd. I did not see any grumpy old men in here.

Nice, chilled out pub. Good for sitting outside as long as it's not raining. Shame it normally smells of fat or bleach inside, otherwise it'd be a cracker.
|
Not bad overall. Getting a little tatty around the edges (no soap in the loos, worn-out seat coverings etc), & service is simply slow rather than laid back. Food however is fine (excellent onion rings) & beer / scrumpy are good. What saves this place is its excellent location on the High Street with parking behind for patrons. Will go again for parking and beer whilst hoping that the food arrives in less than 40 minutes.

Great pub. The food is fantastic, there's a reasonable beer selection and I love the laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Decent enough atmosphere, trying a bit too hard however on the soft furnishing front. The range of ales on H/P is pretty good and well kept. Menu is uninspiring.
Not bad, but could do better would be my verdict

Very inresting interior, very modern and quite stylish. Nice relaxing atmosphere during the week, in which one can enjoy a pint. Good choice of ales - Robinsons Lighthouse particularly good at the time of visit. Menu was limited and a bit "standard" in choice but hey, I came here to drink and not to worry about the menu. 6/10 for the good vibe and low key lighting.

Fit and friendly bar staff, good atmosphere, great DJ on a Friday night. The burgers are brilliant as well, try them! Well worth a visit!
