Went in last night, the pub had a beer festival on, the beers were fantastic. There was lots of live music, the pub was very busy and obviously picking up a lot of local trade now. Everybody seemed to be having such a good time.

This is not a very friendly establishment landlords Frosty to say the least not what your looking for when having a night out with friends makes you feel very uncomfatable. The car park looks like a small bomb has gone off with rubble, bricks all over the area I would have liked something to eat but didn't fancy chancing it.
Avoid!!!!
Plenty of other lovely pubs you could visit.

Went here with the Wife this Saturday at around 9.30pm to try the Ringwood which I noted here was on offer, the pub was closed, despite the sign declaring 11pm closing time. I thought the pub had closed permanently but it seems that when he is quiet he chooses to close, what an attitude. I shant be trying that again there are much better pubs locally where the business is appreciated by Landlords who are prepared to make an effort.

This pub/eatery has a problem sorry many problems namely the outside area to the rear of the building, It would appear to have building fabric/Bricks etc.. covering the car park area and a removed outdoor seating area and what looks like a small bonfire/traffic cones not very welcoming site to see on arrival. As for the landlord extremely rude and discourteous.
There is one and only one positive note to add the food was adequate
I would not recommend this Establishment to anyone.

Excellent beer, friendly atmosphere and very good food. I went in for a quick pint the other day with a friend, but eventually left a few hours later. The company was good and there was a nice range of beers from the Banks and Taylor Brewery as well as the more common brews such as Ringwood and Breakspears. The pub is a lot smaller than it was when I went for a meal with my wife some time back, but this has only added to the ambiense. I can only say that if you've not tried it, it's well worth a visit and the food comes recommended.

Excellent food - good value, decent portions. Worth a visit when they have a beer festival on. Number of beers available can vary but are generally in good condition. Do ring before making a special visit to check they are open!

Went to the beer festival here earlier in the year. Some great beers, well served, friendly staff.

Pleasant with intersting range, though the Yeovil was a bit dull.

Have been to this pub four times in the last three months and have enjoyed it on every visit. I had food on three of those occasions and both my meals and the meals of my friend were excellent. Large portions and good quality ingredients with a home cooked feel. I recommend the burger (yum!).
Although it's not my thing there are plenty of Ale's on offer as well as the usual larger on tap. Lots of seating away from the bar if you prefer a quiet bite and a small seating area outside. They could do with getting a couple of high chairs for younger diners though.
Very friend landlord - made us feel welcome and was cheery throughout.
Hidden away but a great little place!

This pub has a friendly local feel. Beers available straight from the barrel so no complaints there and meals are excellent. A bit of a hidden gem.

Been off this week with the weather so I've made the point of visiting local pubs, made the mistake of visiting lunchtimes and found it closed. Went back that evening and it was like League of Gentlemen, I was waiting for someone to warn me from leaving the path when I left. Really clicky, didn't bother eating as I didn't feel comfortable so I can't comment on the food. Only two beers on as well, not the five that promised both main stream beers not worth the visit.

Tried to go here for a pint on a recent lunchtime after walking my dog. They appear not to open at lunchtimes!! Why? What's the point of being a pub? Also some notice up saying they are closed for several weeks in August. That will be helpful for the locals in the area then.
Someone told me this is now run by the same outfit who used to run the Holly Bush in Frensham. That would explain a lot if its true!! Why do people like this go into running pubs? Extraordinary!

Visited for the first time for mini-Beer festival which was excellent. Voted 8/10 purely because its a local freehouse with good beers. Its off the beaten track and quiet at lunch time (during the week). Looks like a good local following so they have a chance. Lunch food (during week) didn't include sarnies - cheapest item was soup at 5. I will return again during non-beer festival to check it out. PS. seems to be a Banks & Taylor connection; think the brewer may live local. GOOD LUCK

This pub is now called Alfreds, I went in for a pint last week, the ales were excellent and there were lots of people in the bar. The Breakspears and the Banks and Taylor brews were very well kept. It's rather expensive for a pub and the opening hours are not wonderful, but the beer was. The food is supposed to be very god, I've not tried it myself but friends and family have and they were very impressed.

Recently bought out from Punch by Mark & Fiona. They plan to add more bar areas and significantly increase the number of ales on offer.
Currently 5 ales of consistently good quality, with 2 from Banks & Taylor on gravity.

This is the second time I have eaten here and wasn't disappointed. The first time was on my wedding anniversary in April and we thought the food and service very good. My second visit with friends was equally impressive and they all felt the same. I'm sure we'll all be coming back soon.

Great re-fit - very friendly staff and good beers. Sunday lunch is particularly good. Would recommend to anyone!

Went last night for a pint to see how it had changed with the new owners. We found a wonderfully lively bar with good beer and a friendly landlord. The restaurant looked empty to start with but once we'd been tempted by the menu and decided to eat there the it had suddenly got quite busy. Had a wonderful home made meal that was very well priced along with a couple of lovely bottles of wine. We'd previously used the Lobster Pot when we fancied a meal out within walking distance but, based on last night, Alfred's (as it's now called) will be our pub of choice for food and maybe even rival the Ball and Wicket for when we want to pop out for a few pints.
This is a family run place which deserves to do very well. If you've been there before these owners took over I urge you to give it another shot - it's changed very much for the better.

Been taken over recently and the decor and locals are far more favourable! Eaten in the restaurant a few times and the food, whether quiet or busy is superb.
Becks and Stella on draught and an incredibly friendly landlord, good family run bar/ restaurant.
Highly recommend for a few quiet beers or a good meal or bar food, I'll be back again and again...

Been in once but never again. Empty restaurant and only a few locals makes this place depressing. I'm all for supporting local pubs but as there is a choice round here I would prefer to drink in the Ball & Wicket which is much more welcoming.

This looks like a social club out of shameless - completely out of character for Farnham and Surrey
