The Prince Alfred, Upper Hale

Tried to go here for a pint on a recent lunchtime after walking my dog. They appear not to open at lunchtimes!! Why? What's the point of being a pub? Also some notice up saying they are closed for several weeks in August. That will be helpful for the locals in the area then.

Someone told me this is now run by the same outfit who used to run the Holly Bush in Frensham. That would explain a lot if its true!! Why do people like this go into running pubs? Extraordinary!

The Ball and Wicket, Heath End

Excellent pub. I found this place recently when walking up from Farnham Park. Dog friendly and with a good selection of real ales (brewery on site!) and lagers for those who prefer those. Nice interior and all a pub should be. Friendly staff as well!
