Surprised at the low overall score for this pub, can only assume it was once a dive. All I can say is I visited it for the first time and found a very friendly and comfortable local, with a good selection of real ales, including a couple I have never seen before, would go back without hesitation.

So glad the Feathers has re opened. I like this place as it has a friendly atmosphere and feels like a proper pub. Good beer and nice Sunday lunch.

Nicely redecorated pub in a good area. Fullers London Pride and Gales Seafarers Are are served. But the place lacked atmosphere on our Monday night visit, with no customers at all until we walked in.

Hi, went there today for the first time with friends for a sunday roast.I must say we were not dissapointed, very friendly and attentive staff. The food was very good, plenty of veg, extra gravey and nicely served. The pub was very cosy with a real fire going and a very friendly atmosphere.I noticed that there is jazz & rock music advertised for entertainment nights and a weekly datrs comp with a 100 first prize.Apparently it was closed for 18 months was reopened October last year, and on first visit seems to be going in the right direction.Definately going back again if only for the food. Drove past the other day and now re-opened. Will pay a visit soon and report.

Has recently been brought by the previous owner of the Turks? Would be a fair guess that similar set up as per the Turks and the usual "suspects" will appear shortly after.

The Feathers is closed down!! Closed by the council or the Health &Safety people...! something to do with excessive noise or something!! TJ

Shame - used to have really good beer festivals and some weird ales too!

A pub in transition after a series of dubious landlords.
3 ales on the go (Courage Best, Gales' Swing Low and Pride) Swing Low was in good nick, served by a friendly young lass, so there is hope for the place.
Worth a sample at present.

Cask Marque revoked last month according August edition of What's Brewing. Shabby stuff, but fits in with what my fellow Staines-based ale drinkers have been telling me of late.

I agree with TheGP's posting on 25 April 2005. This pub does look very promising from the outside - they always have fantastic flower displays - but everything goes downhill when you step inside. I have visited several times now, sometimes just for a drink and sometimes to eat. The staff have always been thoroughly miserable and rude, despite my best efforts to be pleasant and polite. The food is very mediocre, and often slow to arrive. Don't bother asking for your steak to be cooked in a particular way, as they don't appear to listen or care. A big disappointment. Can't believe the management allow them to go on like this.

A pretty good place to have an evening drink, (or start a pub crawl into Staines). Spacious and with a good clientele, with a decent range of Real Ale.

I think The Feathers is a good, snug local pub. Excellent range of real ales and decent food (it gets busy for Sunday lunches). It IS a bit on the dark side and the decor 'traditional', but they tolerate kids, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your viewpoint !

Beer festival this weekend, (1st July - 4th July 2005) 24 different beers, Barbecue & Hog roast, Morris dancers on Sunday 3rd - snack cabin and beer tent!

Bit of an odd pub. Looks lovely from the outside, a real country local. Go in, and the layout feels unfriendly and it is very dark. Staff seemed friendly, but for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, was a disappointment.

A fine local pub in Laleham village - amazed that it's not already here. Fine selection of real ales regularly changed, and even has it's own beer festival during the year. Large T.V. on footballing nights, live music on Friday nights. Pleasent people.
