Greene King corner pub that was beginning to empty out prior to a Watford game. Although there were still a few people left watching the rugby. The 3 ales were Greene King IPA & Mighty Moose IPA & Hogsback TEA. A very swift visit for me. But I might try to return when much more sober.

After 5 bars on The Parade it was a delight to find something approximating to a real pub which served bitter on a handpump. It's been refurbished recently and is quite smart. I had a pint of Tribute which was OK and there were two other real ales on. The seating was comfortable, and the footy was on at a low volume so we could actually talk to each other. The breakfast at 3.95 looked cracking value. This is one of the few establishments in Watford I would recommend.

Popped in on our way back to The Junction. Not our normal pub, but Druids looked like it was open again, but packed and very noisy so we tried the Estcourt Tavern. This was an inspired choice as there was a band on and the old fashioned local pub feel where strangers can appear but don't feel threatened. Bar staff were excellent and very efficient. Good prices too - pint of Belhaven and a medium glass of Pino Grigio was £5.90 and my missus liked the wine, served as it should be cold and in a clean glass. Didn't try the food but it looked good value.

Tyical Greene King that is tied. Abbots, IPA and a guest (normally Fireside) if your lucky. Typical Greene King pub grub done well. Staff are always welcoming. Sport on to but not in your face if you want a quiet meal/pint. Like the decor too, mix of comfort and bar style furnishings. One of my usuals.

Called in recently and enjoyed a pint of Hook Norton gold. The pub was busy with a football match being watched by most of the clientele. It's a perfectly nice place to be although I am not very keen on Greene King's policies as a company - Ruddles used to be my local brewery and the beers brewed under the Ruddles brand are nothing like those from the unfortunate original brewery.

Popped in here for the first time last Saturday. It is a Greene King place and had the usual Greens King beers (IPA & Abbott). Had a couple of pints of the Abbot which were OK. Also had some food wich was good. The service for both the drinks and the food was good so I will be visiting again when I am next in the area.

Dropped in on Sat night beer was very disapointing IPA wasn't right and guest beer Fireside wasn't much better Only 2 young staff on and they spent their time chatting to pals and standing outside smoking

Greene King beers but in decent condition. There is a nice outside seating area. There's also a pool table and dart board; it's is a nicely set out pub, an unusual shape.
|
A friendly local pub with a wide selection of beers including three real ales. Good food
|
Friendly landlady. Decent pint of ale. Far superior to the welly opposite.
|
Nice pub, friendly bar staff, nice food and pool tables. overall good atmosphere
|
Large corner pub tucked out of the way between the town centre and the station. Pool table, eating area, GK IPA but sadly little else ale wise.
|
Good Pre-Match pub. Nice atmosphere, but small and thus crowded on match days. Still, far far better than a trip to the Red Lion. Food is hearty and decently priced though.

Watford FC are at home and you want to be served a drink? Good luck...

Good place. Pool table always handy. Cheap and friendly - no trouble.

A new and highly entertaining game has been invented at the Estcourt called 'Beat the Chef'. Basically, when the chef disappears on one of his seemingly hourly visits to the gents trap, you place a bet on how long you think he will stay in there before he thinks he should really get up and do some work before he gets caught skiving. It's usually only played for small amounts of money, but you may be surprised at the stamina levels displayed by this budding athlete!

Nice pub, shame about the beer. Only ever do Greene King IPA. This would be a great pub if they put on a few more guest beers. My mum used to work behind the bar here 30 odd years ago, in fact this is where she met her present husband!

Oh yeah, I forgot about the odd Reverends! And you might get served by a horse if you're lucky.
|
Great pub. The landlord and his wife really know what they're doing and are very welcoming. The food is good and reasonably priced. There is plenty to do and there is usually something playing on the TV. Reverend's Corner is home to some rather odd locals, but it all adds to the atmosphere!

A lovely pub with a great landlord and his wife running the show. A warm friendly atmosphere, a good selection of beers and an extensive and affordable menu.

A great pub with a friendly atmosphere, good beer and food. It has a couple of large screen TVs, but they don't take over the whole pub. Plus a pool table and 2 dart boards.
