Classic country pub which has been in the Good Beer Guide since time immemorial. All of the Sunday diners had left so we sat in the narrow snug with its Victorian fireplace and internal sash window that opens into a corridor. £3 a pint beers were Swan on the Wye, Purity Longhorn IPA, Bewdley Sunshine, Hobsons Best, Exmoor Gold and Campbell's Flintlock so the range was skewed towards golden ales.

The Bell was our favourite pub of 4 we visited on Friday evening last week. The welcome was really warm. The pub has a bar, a small adjacent snug and a dining room along the corridor. The snug was full with people who had booked to dine. But the staff opened up the dining room for us, as we were travelling with our boy. Ales were Hobson's Best Bitter, Exmoor Gold, Prescott Hill Climb, Kinver Light Railway & Ludlow Gold. There were no real ciders on, which was a little disappointing. But they clearly do stock them from time to time. Robinson's Flagon was the best option available.

A great pub which seems to deserve all the acolades it get's and is well worth taking time to visit. 24 of us popped in for an hour on a recent Camra trip and the staff did a great job in feeding and watering us. The food was good with an excellent view from the dining room and beer garden and more importantly the beer was very good with a varied selection of 6 ales and several ciders. We tried the Dark Star Hophead - a great beer - and all the others seemed to go down well too.

Combined a lunchtime pint with a lovely walk - I am going to try and combine a walk with all the counties top 10 pubs on this site - this is number 4, but my rating may move it up. Unfortunately, I had picked up a bit too much mud to take advantage of the roaring open fires. I was not short of company, as the landlord came and had a chat to me in the beer garden. Superb pint of Hobsons. Great country pub

The most wonderful thing about htis pub A) the landlord B) the landlord C) the landlord D) the locals E) the beer F) the food
the guys running this place, could make a pub in the middle of manchester warm, welcoming, fantastic. They could make a place in the highlands just as succesful!! Characters behind the bar, characters in front, You are always made welcome and always made to feel like a local, even if your not! I roll up every now and then on my own, on a motorbike, lone female,!!!!!! I always walk away a happier person

This is a great little pub, full of character with a good range of drinks - not just beer but also ciders and perry. On a warm spring day, a visit to the Bell with a few friends and a couple of pints of perry is one of lifes simple pleasures!

Marvellous pub catering to a very wide range of customers. Multi-roomed character, with one of the best views from a pub garden you'll ever see. Good Hobsons, though I struggle a bit with their Best - where's that wonderful mild of theirs ?

Enjoyed another visit to the Bell for the June beer festival with a good choice of well kept beers. I always make a point of calling in when in the area as it is the best around. Well done John and your team.

This is a fantastic place, well run, friendly, comfortable and welcoming. Excellent range of real ales, cider and perry and very good food indeed. Best pub in the area and well worth visiting.
|
A staggeringly good pub, almost perfect. Great ales and ciders, food is sublime. This is the quintessential English pub, out of 400 odd pubs I've rated on this site I'd even say this is the best I have ever been in...
If only I could find pubs as good near London! Ah well, never mind..
