please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This pub has quite a unique location on Perranporth beach. I believe it claims to be the only pub on a beach in Britain. But I would think the Smugglers in Sunderland could potentially challenge this claim to fame. The Watering Hole was very busy on Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime with most of the indoor tables taken and plenty of people outdoors admiring the windswept beach under the ominous-looking clouds. Beers were all local and nothing unusual - Betty Stogs, Prober Job, Tribute & Doom Bar. But it's the location that makes this pub special.

Australia comes to Cornwall ! Have a treasured holiday snap of my wife sipping a glass of beer with the sands in the background and a game of beach volleyball going on. Scores a perfect ten for me.

Re-visited this spectacular pub on June 6th 2011 (had been once before two years ago). Still a really good place to visit - good beer and we had a very good lunch - reasonable prices, good food and very quick service. Altogether a very positive visit (and WHAT a view!) but one negative: we left to go on a long walk with the dog. When we came back 2 hours later the remains of our lunch were still on the table. A seagull had clearly helped itself and spread our dips all over the table and seats. A very poor slip up that marred an otherwise excellent visit.

What a location, what a novelty. Went here Tuesday for a snack and drink.
Skinners at its best, we made one mistake. for snacks ordered the meze and tortilla, did not realise they were to share. did not need to eat for the rest of the day. Very well worth the visit.

Best beach bar weve ever been in in the uk. Location to die for with views...amazing! Live music with good ales, bit expensive but most will pay. Cant wait to return.

Lovely setting for a pub right on the beach. Great to sit outside people watching while enjoyong the real ale. Seating not just on the one side so it is possible to avoid the wind. Intersting but expensive menu, so we didn't eat there.

This place just gets better, Heligan Honey, Tribute, and two house beers, one by Skinners, one by Sharps. Good choice of tasty foreign lagers, but with Fosters for the Hard of Tasting. 3.10 a pint is a bit dear, but worth it for the ambience, view and great beer.

Love this place. Right on the beach, great choice of beer ( I love Leffe and the have it on tap....happy days!)
Huge portions of food.
All you need is sun....well if not...sit inside.
We head the 250miles to Perranporth just to get that 'Watering Hole' feeling. Fantastic!!!

This is certainly NOT the cheapest place to get a drink in Perranporth but being placed directly on the beach they have a captive audience for beer and food. This said, the ales are local and well kept and the location makes it a great stopping off point on the long walk back across the beach.
It does get very busy at peak times with the wooden picnic tables always in demand.

Unbelievable location, and that's what makes this pub stand out. Average otherwise, but when you can sample a good quality beer or cider, and look out over crashing waves and a beautiful sunset, there's nowhere I'd rather be.

Pricy, full of surfers, but what a gem of a pub. Superb location, and the Heligan Honey beer is superb. Great bar staff, very helpful and friendly (And attractive!). Sea, sun, sand, surf and Skinners, life can't get better.

Expensive but good beers, great location however!

The bar/pub is actually on the beach, not sure what happens at a very high tide, probably get complaints of watered down beer! The front part is open early for food/tea/coffee and the rear part is the bar area. Started a no smoking ban in May. Sells real ale. Has an area for kids to play. There are tables on the beach, so you may get real sand in your sandwiches. Great view of the sunset."

Extremely over priced beverages and not really a "PUB"

Great sandlocked bar in a pretty little Cornish village, visited recently and would love to go in the height of summer, ice cold beer ,miles of sand and watching the waves rolling in,who needs Bondi ? happy days.

Words cannot describe a hot summer night here!!! You may dream of Australia but you can find it here at Britian's only beach bar, tucked into the sand dunes along the vast Perranporth beach. Catering to the trendy young set, not so much a drinkers pub as a small night club. Can get hot and sweaty - always goes off. On the A-list of Cornish live music venues with nationwide pub circuit and occasional name bands, wide variety of musical styles to match the great choice of food and drinks. Occasional problems with very high tides lapping at the door. Don't wear your best party shoes; DO be ready for a memorable night! And the whole 3-mile beach to explore after hours if holiday romance should strike you. Closed all winter and occasionally in season during storms.
