Very smart pub, friendly staff and enjoyed the beer. Simple as that.

This is a great pub for eating, drinking. the real ales are kept very well. I think the pub has a really good atmosphere and I feel really comfortable as a woman coming here on my own. the wines are fantastic , a really good range and the land lady is very helpful in advising on what to have. She gave me several wine tastings before I chose the one I liked. My partner got to taste the beers too which he enjoyed too!!!

My advice would be to visit this pub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lovely pub, beatifully decorated. very clean and comfortable with many styles of seating. The prices are a bit expensive but worth it if you like a good drink in nice surroundings.

Greene King, groan, expensive but 4 ales on and the beers are pretty well kept so perhaps I'm letting my beer snobbery get the better of me. Quite a large and thriving pub, 2 bars, the main bar is traditional and when I went on a Thursday it was nicely busy with a bias towards a slightly younger crowd, lots of seats and a relaxed atmosphere. The other bar is an abortion of a design nightmare, sparkly granite worktops for the bar, harsh lighting and an attempt at some funky furniture. The staff were friendly although quite busy and the owners did seem to care about their customers.

Yes - a good boozer with good beer although it is at a price! I think 3.20 a pint for Morland's Original Bitter is a bit steep for this part of town. However, it was in good nick.

Back street but a very nice pub, good GK beer and cider, clearly a local's haunt but welcome to students too as we discovered, good atmosphere and would like to point out that the pub has both a pool table and TV, contrary to the search options.

Changed hands again a couple of months ago (now jan 2010) back to traditional English and is much better as a result. Nice place, good ales and atmosphere, best pub I've found so far in Earley. Haven't eaten there yet but menu looks nice....check it out.

Under new management since early summer, and definately looking up...

A couple of real ales on regularly now.

Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. One side of the bar has been refurbished and looks like a service station wash room! Sit on the front side of the bar and its a very nice pub.

Yet another new landlord, previous one bolted. Shame, as this is a damned good pub.

GK ales on. Previously supplemented by a seasonal but availability seems to be a bit-hit-and-miss lately. usually, the beer is of good quality.

Otherwise, the inside has a lot of character and it feels like a nice place to be, so I'd recommend a visit on that strength alone. Let's hope GK don't ruin by deciding it needs a 'refurbishment'.

I dropped back in there a week of two ago. New landlady Debbie has cheered the place up, good atmosphere, and local joe pepper band was entertaining.

Unusual back street local. Original panelling in what would have been seperate lounge bar before it was opened up into one room. Decent beer, although Greene King-heavy. Parking nearby can be awkward.

Unfortunately, the Thai food speciality is no more. The Roebuck has been through a couple of changes of manager recently. Mike, the current manager leaves at the end of February. He expects that the incoming manager will continue to keep three real ales going - Greene King IPA, Abbot and either Moreland Bitter or a GK Seasonal.

Very nice pub which I had the good fortune of living right next to for a year. Food is very good along with the atmosphere.

This is an wxcellent public house that serves fantastic ales and wine and has extensive English and Thai Menu.
The staff are friendly and helpful - highly reccomended.

This traditional pub with a twist is as pubs really should be. The Thai food is exactly as you would find it in Thailand and very reasonably priced. This pub is well worth a visit for the food as well as the wonderfully well kept Real Ale Selection.
