Very smart pub, friendly staff and enjoyed the beer. Simple as that. AJM - 3 Feb 2013 21:47 |
This is a great pub for eating, drinking. the real ales are kept very well. I think the pub has a really good atmosphere and I feel really comfortable as a woman coming here on my own. the wines are fantastic , a really good range and the land lady is very helpful in advising on what to have. She gave me several wine tastings before I chose the one I liked. My partner got to taste the beers too which he enjoyed too!!! My advice would be to visit this pub!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lovely pub, beatifully decorated. very clean and comfortable with many styles of seating. The prices are a bit expensive but worth it if you like a good drink in nice surroundings. delpus - 13 Jul 2011 16:15 |
Greene King, groan, expensive but 4 ales on and the beers are pretty well kept so perhaps I'm letting my beer snobbery get the better of me. Quite a large and thriving pub, 2 bars, the main bar is traditional and when I went on a Thursday it was nicely busy with a bias towards a slightly younger crowd, lots of seats and a relaxed atmosphere. The other bar is an abortion of a design nightmare, sparkly granite worktops for the bar, harsh lighting and an attempt at some funky furniture. The staff were friendly although quite busy and the owners did seem to care about their customers. Abteilung - 18 Nov 2010 23:36 |
Yes - a good boozer with good beer although it is at a price! I think 3.20 a pint for Morland's Original Bitter is a bit steep for this part of town. However, it was in good nick. mcroyal - 10 Nov 2010 10:57 |
