yesterday,10-6-14, myself and six family members went for lunch at The Muddled Man,and found it to be a great place to eat and drink real ales,at very reasonable prices, The landlord was very amusing, as befitted the pub name,I was certainly not offended by the friendly banter, the food was excellent, both in quantity and value, and the beer was exceptional, well done Yeovil ales. We will be going there again, very soon

Quirky pub, quirky landlord. I really love it. Probably going to be my local from now on. Had a lovely evening there. You could go there on your own and not feel out of place. Lovely dog if you tickle its belly. :-) The locals were very friendly. The beer was good. Yet to try the food but have high hopes as the landlord wants to please. 10/10 from me, and I'm fussy where I drink.

A run of the mill village pub, nothing fancy, doesnt try to be and no worse for that. Beer was fine, as you would hope for.

Clearly a village pub, well used by the regulars (who completely ignored us strangers) but a peculiar welcome from the landlord whose sense of humour appears to be an unsubtle mix of country yokel combined with schoolboy repartee plus a hint of village idiot. Nevertheless the ales, both local brews, were spot on and well kept; Will's Neck from the Quantock Brewery and M.G.B. from the Cottage Brewing Co. Apart from a good range of steaks the menu is pedestrian and limited to pub grub, all with chips and peas - the menu actually states that fresh vegetables are only served on Sundays or with large pre-booked parties! However the food was well-cooked, the portions generous and the value very good. On the upside - a small pair of scissors were provided to cut the packets of various sauces, on the downside the various sauces were in packets. Overall just what you'd expect to find in a no-frills village pub - therefore an average 5/10.

Very good country pub with a fine collection of pump clips showing all the beer on offer (though unfortunately not all at the same time).
3 beers always available, local Moor and Cottage beers on my visit, and not a drop of Doom Bar in sight.

I wish more pubs were like this one, friendly service, good beer, good food in large portions. Had the Moor beer which was in good nick. Enjoy.

I stayed at this pub over the last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The welcome was warm and geunine, from the owners and the locals and the dog. The beer was excellent and well kept. The food was cooked to order with large portions and great value. The room was a good size with en suite bathroom. I would definitely come back and would not hesitate in recommending this Inn if you're looking for a relaxing stay in the countryside.

The Muddled Man is what every real beer drinker dreams of - a country pub with three guest ales which are regularly changed and always kept in first class condition. It is not a restaurant but a drinkers pub which also supplies good, wholesome home cooked food at unbelievably reasonable prices. Try the steak meal special - 2 x steaks from 13.50 - a plate load of food for two. Mick, Jean & Gary always give you a warm welcome (Mick's friendly insults are legendary). Just recently the decor has been changed with new carpets and tables & chairs. My favourite pub.

Great Pub, ascommented the Landlord is a nice bloke. The landlords son is a very knowledgable chap.....first rate pub

Only had a diet coke as I was driving. My parents live in the village and reckon the 2x rump steak dinner for 12.50 is good. They also said not to expect anything fancy there.
Good moustache on the landlord. When I walked in it could have been something out of The League of Gentlemen!

The landlord and landlady are friendly folks, as is the dog. A beer in the garden on a sunny day is real treat.

eccentric name and eccentric landlord.....doesn't always guarantee good quality ale though...how one can sell Otter Ale badged as Otter Bright is a mystery. locals enjoy the traditionally limited food menu...
