New owners since I last visited and what a difference. We went for Sunday lunch on the 3rd Nov 07 and were glad we did. The pub is welcoming, clean and the food is simply superb. Most impressed by the friendly service and the menu is excellent. We will definately be back soon.

Had Sunday Lunch (21/10/07). Complete lack of welcome, we had to work hard to get seated dispite there being only one other table occupied. Service slow and indifferent. Food OK when it arrived - potatoes and yorkshire both burned. Took 40 minutes and 2 attempts to get plates cleared. Had lost the will to live by time for dessert and so had other table but entertaining cracking jokes with other customers at pubs expense. Serving staff totally ineffectual. In summary - food just about OK, management dire

Heard so much about the food at this place - thought we should try it for ourselves. Surely couldn't be as good as people are saying!? Truley fantastic food - great choice, excellent portions, even looked pretty on my plate! Almost too good to eat. My husband assures me his beer was amongst the best he's ever tasted. Too much fursty ferret meant I had to drive him home - perhaps we had too good a night. Definately one to visit again!

The landlord (Steve) is not aussie but the friendly staff are. Very welcoming, both surroundings and excellent meal. Visited on Wedensday night had a great meal, washed down with three pints of very well kept Tanglefoot and joined in the quiz!!! did not win the quiz..... But had a great night at a very pleasant village pub.
Will be going back soon.

Recent change in ownership. Ronnie has moved on. New landlord (Aussie) seems to be doing a very good job. Friendly place, good beers, nice garden.
Well worth a visit!

What a cracking pub. Real traditional atmosphere with lots of quirkie nooks and crannies. Ronnie and Teresa were terrific hosts/hostess and the food was very good as well. Loved the Badger Best, it inspired me to write in see you again soon guys.

Excellent beer - food is traditional country Pub food and is well presented. The staff are very helpfull and easy to talk to they make everyone feel welcome. Excellent meal and a good choice.Well looked after Badger beer, still the best.
Lovely old Hardy Trail bub and is well mentioned by Thomas Hardy in Tess of the D'URBERVILLES as Rolliver's. Nice lay out big garden and parging area at the rear. Well worth a visit.
