8 years on, and fhe same issues persist. Any more than a handful at the bar and you’re waiting and waiting and waiting. Not the least of the problems is that the few bar staff are frequently occupied for long periods of time dealing with large food orders: a woman today spent at least 10 minutes ordering numerous meals, as the crowd waiting to be served grew & grew. Horribly uncomfortable high stools too and, of course, unsupervised children running about all over.

Not a bad Spoons, reasonable choice of ales on my visit, food to usual Spoons standard. Probably the best of the 3 JDWs in Hull.

We met our friends in here before moving on to the pubs in the old town. Saturday night and heaving - loads of scantily clad young ladies (and boys!!) Beer range was poor with several pumps having nothing on (much like the women). Not a bad atmosphere though and not intimidating. If Wetherspoons actually go their act together and employed a few more staff they would go up in everybody's opinion overnight and we might all get served a bit quicker. We had a beer and moved on....

Extremely popular 'Spoons pub. Nice decor, quite spacious but always packed out on a Saturday night. Sometimes waiting too long to get served.
|
Slow, sarcastic staff, some good beer/ale and cider though.

Typical 'Spoons, as they say. Never quite enough staff if more than a handful in, but how else do they keep the prices down?. Had ham 'n' eggs the other week, v. nice as was the Guinness. Slight capacity for knobhead-element attraction, being at the northern end of 'Owld Town'. Spacious, light, bit of a hangar though,

Yes I was in here last Friday (5/03) and was impressed. 10 hand pumps:- 1 for Abbott, 1 for Ruddles, 2 for Cider & 6 Guest Ales. Nice clean and bright..very good for a JDW house

Agree with the previous comment. We were impressed with the pub and also with the beer choice.

Facing the Crown Court and named after three different reverends who used to run the church across the road. One of the better pubs in the chain as it always has several guest beers on. I've always been served a decent pint here as well.

Of the three Wetherspoons in Hull probaby the best. I don't like what they've done to the Edwardian interior of the old Central Post Office but that's only me I suppose.
Usual 'Spoons beer and food with the the usual lack of staff should it suddenly get a bit busier than expected. But it is good value.
But if you're in the area, you're better off in the George, Olde White Hart, Walters or Black Boy which are pubs rather than barns.
Good place to watch satellite Footie then off elsewhere for a proper pint afterwards ;-)
