Went in here yesterday for the first time since the big fire. And was quite impressed. Staff were pleasant and attentive, Sunday lunch good value (2 for £10), and beer well kept (3 real ales - GK and Doom Bar). Since the fire, the rebuilding has been faithful to the original. Worth a visit.

Will this place ever reopen?
If it does it will be at least a year before it's rebuilt.
As it is a Greene King pub that did fairly well i would think it would be in there interests to rebuild.
A burnt out pub is a sad site to see.

Serious fire here a few days ago - looks it will be out of commission for a long time - however it seems there are plans to rebuild.

I love the bell. Food is very good and very reasonably priced. The staff are great and helpful. Wine is always at the right temp and the beer also.
The whole place has a really nice atmosphere and I love the way it is divided up into several different areas.
Its so much better that the Airfield Tavern, Both in food quality and price.

You get exactly what it says on the tin and for a family, food, sport pub it does it as well as it can.
Steaks are good value and I've never had a problem with the food there. You get what you pay for and I don't think it's bad at all.

I knew this pub when it was a Bass tenancy. Popped in the other day 'for old times sake'.......wish I hadn't of bothered. Yes it has been enlarged and yes it is operated now by Greene King and yes It is a disaster. If you want 'less than perfect' GK real ales and 'ping' food, this is the place for you. Not impressed.

Well, visited last night and no Real ales to choose from, a most delightful scene of empty plastic pint pots placed upside down on top of the hand pumps. GK IPA extra cold keg was offered, I chose Guiness which, after my experience at the Phelips Montacute at least was drinkable.
Was equally surprised at the TV screen in each dining booth. Staff also particularly inept, 30 mins for a bowll of chips to appear. Pub? no.

awful service from the bar from most staff. i am the invisible man i think! quality of the beer tends to vary and to be honest the food doesnt really appeal (certainly as a young male chef entered the bar area and his uniform looked filthy!).

nice decor, nice location, nice play area for the kids but could be improved.

Hmmm... just visited again for lunch - not a good experience. Firstly, when I ordered a carafe of Pino Grigiot for my wife I was told there was no 'pumped' wine so I couldn't have a carafe. Fair enough. Then the stupid landlady / older barmaid tried to tell me that a (500ml) carafe was the same as a (750ml) bottle and got really rude and snotty when I pointed out the difference. I had a pint of Abbot - which was not particularly good. I then had a pint of IPA - which was worse. Finally, after a long wait, the food arrived and was, to say the least, disappointing. My 10oz gammon must have had 5oz of fat and gristle and my wife's roast beef dinner had half the vegetables missing, replaced by a huge pile of mashy undercooked roast spuds. All in all a 3/10 experience and we certainly won't be back, especially since the brilliant (by comparison) Airfield Tavern is just round the corner.

Very nice after the recent refit - adults only bar area and adults area eating area at least means you can have a quiet pint without the local estate chav kids running around your table screaming and hollering! Food still good value for money (Hungry Horse) but only one ale (Greene King IPA) was on.

Decent pint of Abbot. Staff were very on ball considering the place was heaving prior to the Yeovil v Forest playoff, didn't have to wait more than 90secs to get served at any point. Didn't eat so can't comment on food, but this is definitely the best option within walking distance (15-20mins) of Huish Park.

Good for a few pre or post match pints. Greene King IPA was well kept on my visit. Big screen for the footy and decent food. Large eating area where children are permitted. Couple of fruit machines.
