Went in here yesterday for the first time since the big fire. And was quite impressed. Staff were pleasant and attentive, Sunday lunch good value (2 for £10), and beer well kept (3 real ales - GK and Doom Bar). Since the fire, the rebuilding has been faithful to the original. Worth a visit. beerpilgrim - 9 Nov 2015 15:00 |

Will this place ever reopen? If it does it will be at least a year before it's rebuilt. As it is a Greene King pub that did fairly well i would think it would be in there interests to rebuild. A burnt out pub is a sad site to see. montie49 - 25 May 2013 07:59 |
Serious fire here a few days ago - looks it will be out of commission for a long time - however it seems there are plans to rebuild. brianagain - 8 Jan 2013 20:58 |
I love the bell. Food is very good and very reasonably priced. The staff are great and helpful. Wine is always at the right temp and the beer also. The whole place has a really nice atmosphere and I love the way it is divided up into several different areas. Its so much better that the Airfield Tavern, Both in food quality and price.
