The Cardinal, Kingston Upon Thames

Definitely going back here for a revisit as only permitted to be there for the grand total of 15 mins due to pub crawl in process...seemed really nice, friendly bar staff and the food on the blackboard looked delicious... hope it is as good as I hope it is...

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Considering I spent many many hours in pubs round Guildford, I have only just discovered the charms of this one. The staff were to incredibly friendly and delightfully cheery, that it made such a refreshing change. Although the menu may be limited, as previous comments have said - if you like pizza, then this is the place to go. Fantastic. Would highly highly recommend. Also provide games, so on rainy eves and you want to get out the house, you could not go too far wrong for a game of scrabble and a pizza (god, how old do I sound?!)

The Offside Bar, Islington

worth making the 'trek' down away from upper street... not as big as I thought it would be, but great for watching sport - bar staff were incredibly friendly and the food/drink was very reasonably priced (didn't eat but looked good and most expensive bottle of white wine 11!). Thoroughly recommend (but not during an Arsenal game if you are supporting the other team!!)

The Boot, St Albans

Well, what can I say? One of my favourite pubs seeing as I was asked for ID (something that has not happened to me in over 10 yrs and makes me feel much better since I am turning 30 next year!). Didn't stay too long as had places to go, but seemed really nice and in a fab location. Lots of character.

The Bells, Staines

Went here with a heavy hangover one Sunday, and the roast certainly did the trick! V good value for money, although the radio on in the background was a bit fuzzy and didn't help the head! But all in all, would definitely go back.

The Brace of Pheasants, Plush

A wonderfully typical english pub set in lovely countryside off the beaton track... New owners (april 06) could not have been more welcoming and helpful - they helped arrange a lunch for 16 of us - the food was absolutely delicious! I noticed a few cask ales as well, and on further investigation, found out that one of the choices was down to the new owner listening to what his regulars wanted (makes a change!). We were there on a bank holiday weekend, and upset to see that the place was not busy - its simply fantastic!!

B52's Bar, Horsham

Barman very friendly - very attentive and most importantly quick with the drinks! shame we had to move on, could have spent most of the evening there...

The Westgate Inn, Winchester

Must have been there on a very bad day - staff were not friendly, and the place seemed to lack a lot of atmosphere. But hey, it serves alcohol...

St James Tavern, Winchester

Was very surprised by this one - My mum happens to live very close by and have always avoided in the past, but is a great little pub - very posh crisps, and a great way to start a jaunt into winchester.

Recommend it highly.
