Has now become "New Red Lion" associated with the Old Red Lion in Islington.

There's an 80-seat performance space for events.

This was dire. Ok it was a Wednesday lunch time and it was quiet, but I was the only customer. The barman finally got off of his phone to serve me after a couple of minutes and the Adnams Broadside for 3 was ok if a bit too cold, no other ale was on.
I was also under the impression that this was a sportsbar and yet all screens seemed to be showing 80's pop videos, I guess to entertain the staff, but as he spent most of my visit outside smoking, maybe not.
They are currently running an offer during the week that you get a free hot lunch (choice of 3) when you buy an alcoholic drink. Sounds almost too good to be true and guess what it is. There was no food today and no explanation either. Will not be back.

Adnams Bitter and Broadside are available in here, but if my Guinness was anything to go by I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. It was unfortunate that I stumbled in during a till roll crisis meaning that it took a few minutes to be served and then the Guinness dribbled out of the pump slower than the sweat from a pandas ball bag. Even though I had paid I would have disappeared into the night, but the barman was very amiable and there were a couple of friendly locals at the bar that engaged me in conversation as I waited for my pint of excrement.

There is a pool table and plasma/projector screens for showing the football and I would imagine it being raucous in here during a big match, but I still cannot see myself returning.

This used to be a pretty good pub but has gone really downhill lately. The food's pretty shoddy. They keep running out of beer and it just isn't being looked after properly. I'm not sure whether they've had new management or something, but they need to bring back the good ol' days when this place was a great place to go to have a pint and watch the football.
