Dogma Bar and Kitchen, Reading

Nice place to go on a friday lunch, 6 for a baguette, chips, salad and a glass of wine. After work they also so a bottle of wine for 7.50.

The service is a little slow but even slower if you order a coctail. Nice place though, i go every week.

The Hope Tap, Reading

DO NOT EAT THE FOOD!

I ordered pasta in tomato sauce, simple but tastey you would think. Well a little to simple it was heated up in a microwave and all the pasta was rock solid!!

Burger was a little pink inside too. So avoid for food

Crown Inn, Playhatch

I loved this place, yes maybe it is a little over priced but I went there for an enjoyable meal with my partner and I got one. I would highly recommend the slow cooked lamb melted in my mouth and was the best I have ever tasted.

I wouldnt pop in for a quick pint but I would definitely come back again for a meal.

Brilliant!! 10 out of 10

The Walkabout, Reading

Very true!! They are always like that.

Well got thrown our for ''throwing bottles at Yates''???? Was about a year of so ago, i was there with my boyfriend and his mates happily dancing on the dance floor. The next minute we got grabbed by the back and pulled down stairs (forcefull i might add, im quite a small girl compared to them) and thrown out. We didnt know why this happened so we asked. They said people from Yates has identified us for throwing bottles at them? We had no drinks on us. Ive never been back.

Bar Med, Reading

Well this is laughable!! I went there after work for my mates leaving do. Dress down Friday with a couple of quid in my pocket for a drink. They would not serve me as i had no ID?!? I am 20 and do look older than i am. So i sent my boyfriend up to get a round, they then proceeded to tell him that he couldnt buy me a drink as he was breaking the law for buying an under age girl a drink and that he would get arrested?!?!? uuuum ok.

Went there again for another leaving party (must get them to start changing the venue) I was in a suit as it was a Thursday night. As i was driving I ordered a J20. The bar staff again asked me for ID? I said i was buying a non alcoholic drink and why did it matter, she told me i looked under 18? Then she asked will i be having alcohol? I said i might do i havent decided yet. So she then asked me for ID before even giving me a juice? How Petty!?!?! So in the end i showed her my ID for getting J20. I know they have to ask for ID but all my work colleagues are 28+ and i am shortly 21. Plus I used to go in there last summer as the seating outside wasnt too bad so its not as if I havent been there before.

The prices are extremely high, the bar staff are rude, the glasses are dirty, the floor is sticky and the food is cr*p. What good is there? the exit door only.

Nice pub to start a night, friendly staff, nice beer, not many pubs sell '1664' love it, good music and a bloody huge TV screen. Please let this remain an undiscovered pub as otherwise the chavs will come a flocking!!

5 Jan 2006 15:20

Brannigans, Reading

Well this place is a hole. There are no words to describe this chav fest. Avoid like it like the plague or youll catch it!! The bouncers are aggressive, the floor is full of old mutton, 13 year old girls with belts on or showing a mid riff which god no should be put away and pervy old men!! The floor is soooooo sticky you cant actually move (i thinks thats how they keep people in)

Been twice, which is twice to offen, would rather be in prison - oh no thats like Brannigans too!

5 Jan 2006 13:49

5 Jan 2006 13:34

The Slug and Lettuce, Reading

Very boring, over priced and the beer goes flat just after the first sip. Food passable. The older barman has a very B.A.D attitude problem!! Wouldnt reccomend!!

5 Jan 2006 13:32

The Red Lion, Mortimer West End

I agree with he comment below. Niceness cost nothing!! Please, Thankyou etc.........

Ordered food, just warm enough to eat. I Had Steak and Chips, the steak, lovely cooked just how i wanted it, chips, what chips?? the poor excuses for chips were little fried things that looked like left overs and no bigger than a 10p you couldnt even put yout fork in them as they would snap not what you would expect!! Very over priced for a little pub and not a nice place to go.

Wouldnt reccomend it to anyone - well unless i didnt like them.

5 Jan 2006 09:21

The Spring Inn, Sulhamstead

Very nice pub and the food was superb!! However the service was rubbish. We got sat down and ordered drinks then that was it for about 1/2 hour, finished a bottle of wine before our dinner order was taken then had to wait a further 3/4's of an hour for dinner.

We were seated at 7 and didnt leave till just before 10. Not impressed.

But the food was good and so was the wine so that made it a lot more better, may go again but a little hesitant as if this proceeds then wont go again.

5 Jan 2006 09:12
