The Blue Bell Inn, Beltring

This pub is now closed due to a supposed health and safety failure on the kitchen. Funny really as you could eat the food off the kitchen floor of the cafe behind and I'm not joking. Shame really as in the past this has been a good pub but has recently had to many ups and downs.

Lord Homesdale, Bromley

Had a beer here last night for the first time in years, and I won't be back. Beer was off and that includes the Ruddles (lines not cleaned properly and starting to age) and the fosters (flat). Regulars only friendly to locals, people worst for ware at 9.30pm still being served and the barman looked half pissed. The barlady was ok but no smile. 5.80 for 2 pints and a 1 more expensive than the Bricklayers and for an inferior product. What a waste of money on the refurb, should close down.

The Bricklayers Arms, Bromley

Popped in last night for a quick drink prior to going to a restaurant. Staff very friendly and new the products thet were selling.

7.30pm and the pub was busy with a good mix of clientele but no youths.

Had a pint of Master Brew which was full of flavour and clear. A perfect pint. My mate had a hurlimanns and was complementory about it as it was his first try. Special deals being done by Sheps at the moment so 2 pints only came to 4.70

Bottom line is this is a pub which is well run and where you wouldn't worry to take your misses. Visit you shouldn't be disappointed

The Morgan Arms, Mile End

Visited on Thursday 26th got 2 cokes for our party that wasn't calibrated on the mix. Barman contested my assumptions asked him to test and he reluctantly agreed to change, cheeky bugger. 1/10

The Chequers, Lamberhurst

Just travelling around looking for a bite for lunch. Had a great pint of Spitfire and then found their debit machine wasn't active so lacking the cash readies spent 70 next door in the Italian Restaurant which was very good.
Initial impression is that this is a lively local pub with a few tourists stopping on route. The food menue looked basic, which was a surprise. The "Thanks for coming" comment from the landlady left an indelible mark WELL DONE. Short visit but 8/10

Widmore, Bickley

The Bird In Hand reopened on Saturday 21st Feb 2009 as "the Widmore". Went there the next day for Sunday lunch with my wife and daughter and the food was very good and exellent value for money. My pint of Sussex Best was spot on. For the first Sunday it was suprisingly busy at lunchtime and no doubt when the comments on the food goes around it will be bookings only.
This pub has been redecorated and needs the locals to support it in order for it to grow. Spoke to the very pleasent landlady who also runs the Jail House at Biggin Hill ,so with a fair wind I'm sure they will make a resounding success of it. Can't wait for the spring/summer for the lazy evenings in the huge garden. 10/10

The Anglesey Arms, Bromley

The Red Lion, Bromley

Consistently always delivers a nice pint the Abbot was very nice thank you. Very busy with locals watching the darts on tv but not too noisey. Food menu looks good and the toilets were spotless. Best pub in Bromley? Yes! 10/10

The Freelands Tavern, Bromley

Been here a few times over the years and for the first time I can say I will gladly return. Following a sympathic revamp it was the busiest I ever seen this pub. Only 2 ales on IPA and the Old Speckled Hen which I went for and it was top notch. Greene King are doing their own January real ale beer festival where you buy 3 and get 1 free- they give you a small card and stamp it. Man came round selling selected seafish so I went for the cockles with bags of vinegar and my posh mate had the lobster tails. The barman was very polite and greeted us warmly on arrival so I did something I've never done here before - I stayed for a second pint of Speckled Hen. Will be going back with the wives soon to try out their Sunday roast and of course a few beers. Keep up the good work 8/10

The Prince Frederick, Bromley

Started at the Prince Frederick on a mini pub crawl with my mate who like most of Bromley wouldn't know it was there unless taken. Pretty well packed out at 8pm with a very friendly atmosphere and good bar staff who served an exellent pint of Ruddles from a choice of 5 ales. Highly recommended.

Widmore, Bickley

Just been past this pub which has been totally redecorated externally. It is now starting to atually look like a local village pub. I await the opening to see if my local from the 70's can turn over a new leaf. Fingers crossed!

The Five Bells, Bickley

In these finacially testing times it will take an extremely brave person to take this pub on. This pub is crying out to be a freehold with real ale and middle market home cooked food,. Yes! this pub does have potential with an exellent garden to the rear. At the moment no work started and it's starting to look an eyesore.

The Saracens Head Hotel, Highworth

Stayed here on numerous occaisions and the ale is always well kept, Arkells was always good and they seemed to change the guess beer with regularity. Have always found the evening food to be just ok but the breakfast, cooked by a lovely lady is brilliant

The Crab and Lobster Tap, Ventnor

Excellent underated pub serving good food and local beers.

The Spitfire, West Malling

Visited friends who live within a short walk of The Spitfire and so with their 2 kids in tow we went for lunch. First the important bit, 4 ales on tap and both the Spitfire and Bishops Finger were well served and taste wise were spot on. The food was exellent and well priced and the pub was bustling on a Saturday lunchtime with a good vibrant atmosphere. Certainly not souless and far from sad.

The Hare, Langton Green

Went with family and was well satisfied with the service, food and price. More of an eaterie than a pub, always welcoming and maintains a good standard. The Abbot Ale was top notch so had 2 pints and the wife drove home. Bless her!

The Castle Inn, Chiddingstone

Visited The Castle with my daughter in August for lunch, was disappointed to say the least. Went back with family and friends early December and again was left wondering why are some people just not bothered about customer service or the quality of food.
The potential for this place is unbelievable, however I suspect the business must be making more than enough for the proprietors to keep the status quo.
Worth a visit if only for the local walks, quick drink and to admire the architecture of this amazing building
