| Driven past loads of times but never ventured in. Until tonight, after completing a walk in the area and looking for food. Looks like we found the right place! Monday night, and the car park was packed. Wondered if it was a some sort of village meeting. Turns out they have launched the £5 monday night carvery and all of worcestershire had come out for tea! Fair play to them - excellent quality and value. Three real ales on and I tried a Ringwood Mauler. Found it very odd but not had it before. Very cold and a taste/head like a smooth pour. | Our second visit to the March Hare and seemingly not much has changed in the past couple of years (and I mean that in a good way). Excellent carvery, good beer and a very quick turnaround to get your food. This place remains busy even on a very wet day which is always a good sign... undeaded - 23 Aug 2015 22:29 |
| We stopped here by chance on a Friday lunchtime coming back from a holiday in Wales. The carvery was fabulous - huge amounts of top quality food. Beer seemed to be very well kept although I only had 1 pint of EPA. Unlike other reviews we found the service to be excellent - nothing was too much trouble and when we found we were too full to eat dessert they packed it up in plastic boxes for us to take with us! | Rating wold be ten for the food especially the excellent carvery. However the landlord is now having a laugh with the price of the beer. It has always been above average for the West Midlands even for a country pub but since the refurbishment it has become ridiculous. Last week paid £3.75 for a good guest ale but less than 4% strength. Even Banks' Mild is well over £3 so now make one pint last with the carvery meal and move elsewhere to drink. allinh - 26 Feb 2013 15:58 |
| As the last reviewer found, this was not the pub for a quiet pint. Clearly a place aimed at diners, there is a huge restaurant with a carvery and this is where we sat on late Saturday night as the bar had the local youths playing pool, loud music, I'm a Celebrity blaring out of the TV and no seats left apart from bar stools.
