| An M&B Vintage Inn so there is obviously a formula here but it works well enough and the service and food were both very good. We sat in the cosier, darker end of the pub surrounded by wooden beams and framing whereas there is a brighter, more open plan dining area to your right as you walk in. As you might expect, the emphasis is on eating but the beers are Cask Marque and my Oakham's Citra was in good condition at £3.50 a pint with Doom Bar and Purity UBU also available. | Umm a strange one, stopped for lunch a few months ago - food okay we ate from the quick lunch menu. Didn't drink alcohol both had soft drinks. The problem was that it was a fairly bright sunny day and at 1.30 in the afternoon we couldn't see to read the menu's as the place was so badly lit. I hate to think what it would be like on a winters evening - we said if we come again we would bring our own candles! | Said I would be back for a meal! If you can get there before 5pm on weeknights, they have a really good value set price menu. We got there at 8pm, after a walk to Spetchley Hall. Service was excellent. Food, great quality, not huge portions. Recommended. Mappiman - 9 Aug 2011 17:25 |
