Very raucous when we visited --- slightly lairy atmosphere.

A decent enough place really.
Very busy at weekends and does show sport.
Better to visit at a quiet time i think.

Large open plan with plenty of tables. The beer has a reasonable selection and a good sized bar. the beer was ok, but i have heard other people say a few pints they have had there were not so good. well equiped for all ages, but mainly younger people go in there. worth a try and a good reasonable pub when your on a crawl in exeter centre

Very popular with University students. So don't expect a quiet pint during term times. During the week amidst the summer break, the opposite is true.
The Landlord (Chris) does run a very tight ship though (including prompt closing - but often extends hours at weekends) and the staff are engaging and helpful.
Not a cheap pub, but generally friendly with plenty of Sport shown.
Lay-out is one big bar these days. I pine for the days when there was a cosy snug and separate Bar and Lounge, but then I'm a bit of an ageing old git.
