Pretty awful bar not too far from the Gants Hill tube station. I`m sure I remember people raving about this pub. But it`s gone downhill, presumably since it re-opened. The bar is fairly small and has multiple TVs showing sport. A pool table takes up a fair amount of room. 2 real ales from Mighty Oak were on - the Maldon Gold was undrinkable and the Burntwood Bitter was not much better. Not sure if the guy standing next to our table was a bouncer or not. He certainly looked like was and appeared to be enjoying his lager. This God-forsaken place is not exactly easy to get to either, especially when the Central line is not running.

Well-kept local ales and a relaxed atmosphere.

Has re-opened!!! Small, friendly sports bar, showing most premier league games throughout year. Phone for more details

Apparently re-opening on April 5 2013

Seems to have closed sadly. Drove past at 19.45 and the security shutters were down

This is a very unassuming bar from the outside, but, within, a friendly crowd (and great, friendly and helpful staff!) and a good selection of real ales. It's a bit small, yes, but it has a big heart. One complaint - the Wild West saloon doors to the men's loo; please get rid of them! :-)

I have been here Several times, the time before last I met Darren, the Venue's Owner together with his large Rodesian Ridgeback Dog which,I at first, felt very intimidating as I thaught he would go for me as soon as I stepped inside the venue,However Darren reassured me that he was very friendly so I was no longer afraid-and even managed to stroke him !.

That said, this place has a lot going for it,dispite the it's small size ,the fellow customers and staff are all a friendly bunch, and there is always a selction of Real Ales(Which seems to be steadly increasing),also for lager drinkers there is a large selection of Draught Lagers served from Ice cold fonts.

At the front of the premises is an outside Drinking Area, but until recently you could only smoke out there, but some local issues have now been resolved with the council to allow customers to drink outside in what is the Venue's only outside space.

There are Live Bands at the weekend as they manage to squeeze into a small area that is set aside for them.

There is also room for a Pool Table and a"Top of the Pops"Touchscreen Digital Jukebox-Where you can play any top 40 song going right back to 1952,and much more !.

Thee is also Several Plasma/LCD TVs dotted around the venue on which to enjoy the football or some other favourite sport.

One of the Venue's Downsides is that they do not currently do food,(I have already mentioned several times that this is not a big place-maybe not big enough to have an Operational Kitchen),however from time to time the bar staff go around with plates of Sandwiches,so this is at least something.

It is also worth mentioning that they are doing a loyalty card scheme-recieve an Orange Loyalty card and have it stamped every time you buy a drink(Between Sunday and Thursday up to 31st August)When you have 8 stamps you will recieve a free pint !!!.

And finally one of the smallest Gents Toilets a venue could possibly have.

All-in-all a very nice place to g, very nice Owner, people who work and drink there, and it's not to far away from where I live so its handy for me too !!!.

I think this "The Bar" rather than "The"! Lucky there is only one pub listed under Gants Hill. Three real ales, Sand June and Model T from Mighty Oak and Fullers Seafarers but these change all the time. Modern bar showing live spports and they also have live music. Posters on the wall describing the beers, CAMRA discounts. Not supposed to drink outside but we did and didn't get told off. Great place.

What an unexpected delight! From the outside you wouldn't expect a lot but this is a really awesome place for a drink. Friendly too.

As stated below the 'Bar' owner Darren is very friendly and aims to please. There are 3 real ale pumps with at least 2 on, always in top condition and from good local brewaries eg Mighty oak, Brentwood. It also caters well for my lager supping friends who complimented the correct glasses being used and the ideal temperature of the drink. Top marks for effort!

A couple of cask ales available on my visit - well kept and tasty. Handy for the Central Line Gants Hill Station.

Interesting bar located near the station. They do serve real ale including London Pride. Would echo the comments about the owner and the regulars. Maybe not a place to spend an evening but definitely the best place to meet friends or have a 'livener' before moving on.

Excellent bar for a quick one on the way home or if you are meeting friends prior to going to the local nightclub or restaurants.

No real ale on sale but Darren, the owner, is a friendly host and the mix of punters make it an interesting stop off.

Very friendly owner and wondefully eccentric clientele when I was in there. Had a very welcoming evening. Must try and go again.

Heineken on tap too.

Great Bar, Live DJ every Friday to Saturday - friendly bar staff and a great atmosphere. Right outside the Station just past the Mandarin Palace.
