Went to Glasgow on a day trip and was looking forward to haggis and a pint of 80/-. Disaster - the place has closed down. The agent's board says it has been re-let and it looks like the builders are in but I couln't see any indication of when (or if) it might re-open or in what form. Such a shame.

I don't understand why this is in the Good Beer Guide; there were just two beers on, one of which was Green King IPA. Lacked atmosphere too.

A classic old Glasgow bar just south of George Square, sadly only Greene King Abbott and IPA available on the six pumps but nonetheless very well kept. It being Scotland there are lots of lagers taking up the island bartop. Apparently guest beers are also available sometimes. It is also noted for a decent range of malts. Young punters and staff on a quiet evening when I was in. Normal screens and machines, juke box etc in an old dark wood interior. Decorated with bookcases, Scots photos and prints of sentimental old paintings, The Last of the Clan for example; the more interesting dcor is on the staircase down to the basement toilets, the walls are papered with 1950s copies of the Daily Herald. Differing floor levels provide separate seating and drinking areas to the main bar side space. An interesting bar with original features and reasonable beer.

One of my favourite city centre pubs. Shame that on Hogmany there were only two pints of Abbot Ale left before the barrel ran dry. A decent alternative was supplied in the shape of Santa's Sledgehammer which went down very well with the odd whisky. Trade seems to be suffering just now with the scaffolding outside, but this place is worth a visit.

Agree, a very nice quite Pub with great food, good service and an excellent selection of whiskies. The haggis is good... as far as haggis goes. The guiness is better. Recommend it to all.

Excellent city pub. Got a pint of Deuchars and sat by the window and watched the world go by. Only a pipe of baccy would have improved it but of course that ain't allowed no more. Haven't eaten there but the menu looks good.

I think this bar is great, its got a lovely atmosphere, female friendly , no sports, great fresh food and I must say its refreshing to see staff that are attentive and friendly. The bar is clean and they have a huge selection of malt whiskies and sell a good real ale. I love it and I'll be back

Quiet pub(in the daytime anyway!)...stylish decor- it looks like a few quid has been spent on it.Had a pint of Peters Well here (2.55)-which wasn't the best...
Just round the corner from Tourist Info on George Sq.

The one haven of sanity during the day of the celtic v
man u game. Decent food, not bad beer and quiet enough to have a decent conversation before the madness of the evening. Bar staff could have been a little more friendly and less about cleaning your table as you were sat there

This is a great place to go in Glasgow. Many of the pubs in town are very loud (maybe I'm just getting old) and conversation is difficult. The Ingram has a tasteful quality about it. Decent food, good prices, a good selection of cask conditioned ales, and a great selection of single malt whiskies. Make sure to ask for a copy of their tasting notes if you are looking to try something special.

'No football colours' kept the Tartan Army and the marauding Moldovans out, so this was the only civilised pub in Central Glasgow on Saturday. Good beer, decent food and very good staff. It has a fair-sized non-smoking area. Three minutes walk from Queen St Station, five from Central.
