Hawthorns Hotel, Bar and Restaurant, Glastonbury

Have eaten here twice now. The food I have enjoyed both times, but the second time we visited the service was poor. Slow service for main course and we had to ask the three teenage waitresses at the bar why they had not offered dessert 15 mins after clearing the main. The place was not busy.

Need more focus front of house. Would eat here again though.

The Elms Inn, Street

I have known this pub for ten years or so since I live just a little behind it. It came alive as a food pub during Tracy and Giles era, went through a poor patch and now has a very different feel, but nonetheless is a place where I will feel happy to go for a drink or food. The new owners have created an atmosphere which is relaxing enough whilst still being able to offer good table service for food, which is of a very good quality for a pub.

I would recommend readers of reviews for this pub to pay most attention to the more recent postings regarding food and beer. As regarding criticising the sartorial choices of the host, let those critics upload images of themselves so we can understand by what standard others are judged.
