The British Volunteer, Weybridge

A tribute to the great British Pub can be found here. If you're in the Weybridge area make this a certain stop, I went there during the day - so I can't report on the nightlife, but it was a very friendly atmosphere.

The Plaisterers Arms, Winchcombe

One of those off the beaten track pubs, I remember this fondly as it used to be a local pub for local people... now it caters more for the tourist/hiker. Wonderful olde English decor inside, great pint of Goff's (although I heard that Goff's may, and I say may have suffered badly from the recently flooding in the area)... I'm not sure the food it up to scratch, I remember I went into this pub in the middle of July some 14 years ago and it was such a tremendous atmosphere with proper home cooked pie & mash meals, we even spoke to the friendly chef on the occasion. Unfortunatley it's not quite the same however the Sunday meal was served without wait, but with not quite the same enthusiasm and heartiness.
