The Three Horseshoes, Oulton

We have eaten at the Three Horseshoes for years however we will not be returning. On our last visit for Sunday lunch with a party of 12 it was quite simply the worse customer service I have ever encountered. The staff have become sullen, unmotivated and actually quite rude. The food was so poor that five out of our party of twelve, couldn't eat it- - the pork and beef were more like something out of a microwave meal, thinly sliced, fatty and processed, and the vegetables overcooked and tasteless. When the starters were brought out, one was missing so we chased this. Then when the mains arrived they had completely forgotten my husband's. By the time this arrived everyone else had finished their meal, and his chips were cold so we had to send those back causing more delays. The new till system for taking orders didn't seem to be working, whether that is poor training I am not sure. We had to give our order twice, which seemed to take the lady forever to input, and caused lots of confusion. Finally at the end when we got our bill it contained another party's order so I had to spend quite some time explaining what we had and hadn't eaten so it could be removed. At no time did we receive an apology for the poor service, forgetting meals, poor quality food, the delays or the errors with the till. We were extremely disappointed and embarrassed to have taken family there, all of whom said it was the worse pub meal they have endured for quite some time.
