Shoulder of Mutton, Middleton Tyas

Visited here for a Valentine's Day Evening meal.
Being out of the way down a quiet road, we were very happy to find it not busy (we visited it earlier in the day to see if we would need to book for a meal).
We were greeted on both occasions by a very friendly member of staff who was as helpful as she could be, to see to all our comforts.
We chose to sit in the larger of the dining areas, on very comfortable seats and then decided on our meal choice.
I had a starter of taglitelle with bacon and cheese and main dish of Lamb Shank + vegetables and chips. My partner had Pate with Salad and hot toast ( and yes it was hot) and the main meal of gammon steak with eggs, chips and salad. We each ate some of the others food as it looked so good. The portions are very generous and we really struggled to finish everything but it was so tasty, we managed it.
I would give this Pub a 'good' to 'very good' rating on the food, the service, the amenities and overall congeniality of the hosts. It is certainly one we will look forward to visiting at again....
