The Otter, Derby

Superb location, good menu and in the past have had some positive dinning experiences but the last one will definately not be repeated. Which is a great shame, once beyond the frontage the interior falls short of expectations. The toilets are dirty, its shabby (tatty) and the staff have a serious attiutude problem, to the point of my family and me walking out in disbeleif and disgust at the general standard and approach offered by both management and waiting staff. They were sullen, unfriendly and really couldn't be bothered which was very evident from body language, (a shrug of the shoulders when pointed out that a starter was meant to be one for sharing, yet no second plate was offered). We were told to "wait" when we asked for a jug of water to accompany our meal, after waiting over 1/2 an hour to be served. At this point we left having suffered enough humiliation.
