Cleveland Bay, Chandlers Ford

This pub is in the middle of an estate. The estate has two large primary schools, one of which is next to the pub! The landlord recently advertised the pub as having a 'family room' and that as they have children of their own they welcome families with childen. This is utter rubbish! As you enter the pub, the hge sign 'children MUST be off the premesis by 9pm' is a clue to the attitude of the landlord towards children. The 'family' room ALWAYS displays football on the big screen if it's on, regardless of who is in the room. The room is open plan and has no door, so young children can easily escape to the main pub area, where they and their parents are repremanded! making it a stressfull time if dining in this area - with no family facilities. There are no nappy changing facilities either. The pub garden leads directly onto the car park, this could be rectified with a simple fence to keep little ones safer. There are so many families in this area who would be more than happy to while away a sunday afternoon or friday evening for a few hours, eating and having a few drnks before walking home, but are made to feel so unwelcome by the landlord and a select few hardcore drinkers that they don't bother.
