The cleveland bay could become my local, but it never will because as a customer i'm just not appreciated. This month they advertised roast sunday dinners for 5 we arrived at 1.30 ordered drinks then our meals at 1.40 we wanted roast beef but was told there was no roast beef left, bearing in mind meals are served 12pm - 6pm we were told all we could have was roast pork at this point we asked if we could have a yorkshire pudding with this and were told point blank NO. The waitress informed us that all roast dinners usually run out by 2.30 at the latest. It is clear to me that the cleveland bay advertised that they are selling roast dinners to the public for 5 knowing that they will run out by around 2.30, people that come after that time have to buy food from the normal menu at a much more exoensive price thats what the cleveland bay want. (MONEY) The drinks are way over priced the cheapest bottle of wine is 14.50 any of the other pubs in the area are half this price. The landlord will not even come and speak to you when you have a complaint his comment is always the same phone my wife tomorrow. This is just the latest in bad service, I could go on and list all the other times we have had bad service. The ONLY reason we continue to use this pub is its the only pub in walking distance jennywren333 - 30 Nov 2011 20:16 |
Just had a great time at The Cleveland Bay, looking at the other comments on here I have to say that our experience was fine, food was good value and tasty (and no complaints from the kids, which is the reason for me leaving this post) and the staff were friendly, good for families. Most of the below reviews are from quite a while ago and pretty dated. I reckon the pub has new management since the old reviews were written. Personally I think it's a lovely pub, spacious, good outdoor area which includes a play area for kids...great in the summer! The menu has healthy choices which I loved and kids can have half portions of the food on the menu too. They had a good selection of hot drinks too, so really nice for the day time or for drivers. Good food and good atmosphere, one for families I think. Ignore the old reviews!! xfrancescax - 25 Jun 2009 12:50 |
