The Sligachan Hotel, Sligachan

This pub is a disgrace. The Seumas Bar is a large canteen style area completely lacking in character and atmosphere - its only purpose being to get as many people in as possible. One or two of the staff are friendly, but most appear miserable at best. The food can best be described as average, and when I asked for an extra piece of bread to go with my Cullen Skink I was told that it was 50p per slice. The only reason this place is busy is due to the captive market at the campsite across the road. My advice - stay at the campsite in Portree, and eat and drink at the Isles Inn.

The Leather Bottle, Earlsfield

Don't really mind about the refit. However two points have put me off this pub.
- The beer has hit the �3 per pint mark - a little bit over the top for an out of town run of the mill pub.
- The boules pitch out the back has been ruined by a coating of sand.
I won't be returning, at least until the latter is sorted out!
