The Silver Plough, Pitton

My wife and I stayed overnight in June of 2008. The accommodation was in a "cottage" behind the inn, fairly rudimentary but clean and quite acceptable for an overnight stay.
The landlords were a pleasant and charming couple, and the breakfast we were served the next morning was by far the best we had on our 10-day holiday in England and Wales.

The Rising Sun, Kemsing

Nice to see your entry, lour. As I mentioned a couple of years ago, my heyday for hanging out at the Royal Oak was some 5-10 years before your birth. Jack Benstead--your Grandad--was the publican then. When my wife and I spent a bit of time there in the late 70s, early 80s, Jack had retired and the place was run by Trevor, whose last name I can't remember. I had a local artist do a nice pen and ink sketch of the place. I'll try to upload a copy of it on my website at PeterJBradford(dotcom).

The Stables, Betws-y-Coed

Best plate of fat juicy mussels I ever had--must have been 2-3 dozen. Also an excellent "Kate & Sidney" pie.
