The Railway Inn, St Agnes

New owners (since Dec 09). More of a buzz about the place and they've installed Sky sports, I know it's fashionable to denigrate this feature but it's sited sensitively and is a welcome addition to the village. I've always liked the Railway and think they will do well. Last time I was there, it was Abbot and Doom as the real ale standards.

Tap House, St Agnes

Well it's not really a real ale pub but it's where the cool surf dudes hang out and that's not a criticism it's just not my cup of tea. It's also expensive, there was a report of Red Stripe at �3.30!! why would you pay that. The one real ale (Skinners) is usually poor quality, it's always busy though.

The Star Inn, Crowlas

For an overview read RogerB from 10th April and my input really echoes all the others. This man really can brew, every time I go there whatever you have is not just good it is outstanding. The best pint I had all year was one of his brews... quite wonderful. I even like the fact that it can feel a bit empty..in that oldish style but friendly way.
