one of the worst wetherspoons around. service is diabolical and the food is a disgrace. ok its cheap prices but at least take some pride in in the food. no atmosphere expect on friday and saturday nights were you are meet with a wall of yong chavs at the bar who refuse to move so you can get served. a cheaper pint than the other pubs but for a better pub atmosphere and better food go to the Travellers just down the road

Travellers Joy, Rayleigh

This once rowdy pub has changed a lot over the past year. It is now a place where i am happy to take the family or drink with friends on a weekend night, It is a young crowd on weekends but they all behave themselves which is a credit to the management. Service and food quality has also improved (although service can still be a bit slow at the bar at times but as one manager pointed out to me once that just like everyone else they can not afford the full staff set up they would like). This has to be the bets pub for atmosphere in rayleigh and the managers continue to try and entertain there customers with live music and talent shows and quizs. Its reputation is changing from a rowdy bar in to a refreshing family pub.
