The Crown and Pepper, Croydon

Shame, but this is one to miss.

Floor space of the Skylark (minus the top floor), yet a friday night visit felt more like a wednesday morning pint. The non-existant clinetele may explain why the staff lack basic social skills. The occasional Karaoke attracts the usual drunkards and quickly ends your conversation. Found myself shouting "shall we go?" to a friend just across the table.

As for the drink, average quality, slightly more expensive than other non-wetherspoons pubs. Nice toilets though. A pity as it has great potential.

The Edge, Croydon

Good little pub. Isn't overwhelmingly popular, thus avoids getting too packed out (other than on a Saturday). Good 80's/90's Indie/Rock music, friendly clientele - never a Chav to be seen in this place. Sofa's are a nice touch. Better than the Skylark, although more pricey.
