Hidden gem of Croydon. lovely little pub. atmosphere as soon as you walk in was amazing. we visited on a friday night with live music playing. great atmosphere. the staff were quick to serve us and very friendly. the land lady Laura was lovely very chatty. sofas were far too comfortable as we found we didnt want to leave!!! pub was very clean. the two large bars were perfect for being served promptly. i had never realised the pub had a beer garden, what a suprise!! it was perfect. clean, tidy and the music was also being played through outdoor speakers. shame they dont do food as it would be perfect for a sunday afternoon pit stop after the shops. nevermind alcohol it is !!! dontbeangry - 13 May 2015 14:40 |
pub is under new management whom have some really good ideas about changing the pub and boosting sales. they talked alot about making the pub into a music venue which would be pretty awesome as the pubs character definitely sways that way. the live music they currently have on is original, daring and varied. they have several regular sets during the weekend with two DJs who play alternating weekends. the crowd of regulars are pretty much the same old guys. new bar staff who are very friendly and polite. new beers on draught. they even stock Kozel on tap. large variety of wines. the only down side to this great pub is the lack of food, but unfortantley due to its neighbours along the restaurant quarter its never gonna be a place for food. all in all still my favourite pub in Croydon. dontbeangry - 11 Sep 2014 13:15 |

i havent visited this place in donkeys years and have to say from what i have heard and read i realy was suprised. i believe the edge is now under new managment and has a new food menu to boot. i tried the food on my lvisit to the pub last week and was delighted with how fresh it was, the portion size was good and the price reasonable. the beer tasted the best it has in years and the new bar staff seemed genuinley happy to be serving the public. although the pub seemed quite im pretty sure with the ideas the managment have for the pub, trade will indeed pick up. the jukebox was playing a variety of music and the patio garden was clean. i believe that the edge may be back on track after many years, and would definitley recomend a trip down there. the only downfall to this hidden beauty is the lack of parking, but what can you expect given its location. dontbeangry - 4 Apr 2012 20:50 |
