The Roebuck Inn, Wickham

Hi everybody, My name is Mark and I'm the landlord of The Roebuck. After seeing several nasty and inaccurate comments posted on this site it has become necessary for me to register with this site myself even if it is only to put the records straight myself.

Yes, lollogobb, do please let us look at the facts:

Firstly, Where exactly have we put up a sign inviting comments to this site? There is nothing here and I have never, or would ever do something like that. In fact, after some investigations earlier this year from the organisers of this site it became apparent that the same email address was using different login names to post nasty comments which were eventually removed by this site. I even asked for The Roebuck to be taken OFF this site. When something like this happens then it CAN be thought of as a hate campaign.

Secondly, everybody is entitled to their opinion although I would rather it be accurate and a little less personal.

Thirdly, Crustacean says they were here on New Year's Day. That is an out and out lie as there were no parties of 5/6 here that day.

I could go on but I would much rather just say that the facts speak for themselves. Yes, we are quirky. Yes, we are cozy. But all these things is what makes us different. We won't be to everybody's taste but as someone once said, "You can't please all of the people all of the time"

You will all, however, be assured of a friendly welcome, good food and a pleasant atmosphere.
