The Greyhound, Keston

hmmmmmmmm, there could be so much potential in this place if only someone had the heart and patience to put to it! I blame tavern inns for its current state!

This pub recently went through a change of management, just at the end of last summer. things are starting to look up a little with new manager Penny. however the monumental task in her hands of managing this pub with so many black marks to its name (developed under management of it previous manager) is enough to dishearten anyone. Nevertheless she is a breath of fresh air... at least the is entertainment happening on site on most saturday/friday nights.

the pub also serves food, that not to bad either, and roasts on sundays are something to hunt for if your in the area looking.

The Greyhound, on the common side, in competion with the Fox on the opposite side of the road, would win hands down during the summer...at least you dont have to try and cross a busy road with your drinks and snacks to get to the green and lounge in the sun with your friends/family/partner in the sun. Picturesque don't you think... just the way id want to spend a summers afternoon in Kent, sunbathing, sipping my drink, calmly relaxing without to much bother... and the ice-cream van not too much of a stmble away.

I can't wait for summer!

By the way this is a good pub in the area if you've got children because theres a play area in the garden and the menu's offer Kids meals.

The Crown, Leaves Green

Nice Decor, but can be a little cold... nice non-smoking area. And very good food.

Though i am sorry i dont like the land lord. I have had friends work for him and i dont like his attitude. His bar staff never the less are very nice, even the ones that werent my friends originally, not many could fault their patience or loyalty.

Drinks are ok, though they can sometimes work out being a little over priced (spirts + mixer)and you'll be hard pushed if you like your common largers like fosters, stella, carlsburg etc. and you can forget a bottle of bud.

However id recommend their Quiz and Curry night on sundays, good value for money and with the right group of people a laugh too!

The Black Horse, Biggin Hill

I LOVE my local... Iv made loads of friends in this place. For a start Im dating the barman!

Any way the atmospher is fantastic for the punter that want to feel like one of the family. Have a look on the friday and saturday evenings, especially those when theres entertainment, i recommend Cheryl M.

There are those that miss the days of the old owners, though i can honestly say change is good. Tony and Chris have been at the Black Horse 10 Years now, celebrated only recently. Ok its true they are looking to move on... wanting to retire... nothing wrong with that. But lets look at the difference they have made... the decor making the most impact! Yet in their time they have been revolution ary in thought, even try out a thai resturant for a period of time!

The Black horse is a place were people of all ages and walks of life mingle together for a good time... nearly everyone knows everyone, and they are usually welcoming to new faces that have similar ideals at heart!

Ok you might think im biast, but i do work at two pubs in the area and this is my prferance, it more welcoming and friendly than most of the pubs in the area! xxx
