I lived no more than a five minute walk from the Rose until I was over 30, so if I wasn't in here I was in the Beagle, and yet I somehow managed to lived to tell the tale. My dad was a regular since the time when quite literally the paint was still drying on the lounge walls. Even during mid 90s "clean" epoch had more than it's fair share of characters and atmosphere.'

Even rock hard regulars still talked about the mayhem of the 70s saturday night discos with a sense of awe.
