Brewery Tap, Abingdon

The beer quality seems to be going downhill. It's a lovely pub, good staff, good music, but if you are after good real ale it's a bit poor. The beer is very samey, the lack of head reminds me of watered down university bar beer. If they had a better beer range, this place would be awesome, but at present too greene king-esque. They once had a beer festival and the combo of not normally stocked beers and the building was excellent. Giving it a 5 - could be a 9/10 with better beer.

The Stocks Bar (Crown and Thistle Hotel), Abingdon

Best pub in abingdon for real ale now, 6 real "real" ales on tap. Seems to have alcopops and good beer side by side. The beer is well kept, not watered down and a refreshing island of non green king beers. Manager is really trying to improve the place, good beer fest, discount for camra members too. Was so impressed I decide to vote and register. Dowsnside is make sure you avoid footie match time, unless that's your bag.
