The Alma Inn, Baxenden
My Grandad (Norman Gaskins) used to drink here with his cronies every night in the 1970s & 80s.....until he passed away - infact I think they put a plaque & named the little anteroom after him (Normans Room). They used to drink White Shield and every evening the landlord would put a full crate of the stuff underneath their table, then at the end of the night they would pay up by counting the number of bottle caps. Can anyone comment if the plaque is still there? Cheers Jess, Melbourne Aus.
