The Royal Borough Arms, Norbiton

Great to walk down Park Road and not see or hear the expected rabble of little oiks congregating on the wall outside the old Borough Arms.
This is the only benefit I am aware of since the Pottery came on the scene.
Looks very popular by the throng of customers until you go inside and find more room on the back seat of a porsche.
Tried to sit at a turn of the century old school desk and failed miserably - couldn't get my legs under the table and the adjacent table had been moved so they could fit.
Requested assistance 3 times to alleviate what should have been a minor inconvenience, easily resolved.
The apparent manager seemed to think that this request was unreasonable and threatened not to serve if we objected again.
We promptly left in disgust and amazement at the lack of customer service from the manager, to say nothing of his diplomacy skills, something I would compare to the previous clientelle.
With hindsight, I would have had a better eating experience at MacDonalds.
Avoid like the plague!!
